Dramatic video captured the moment a California liquor store employee pulled out a pistol on a wild mob after they surrounded him.
The incident took place just after 4:15 pm on Saturday outside of Golden Hours Liquor on the 3200 block of International Boulevard, the Oakland Police Department told DailyMail.com.
The unidentified worker didn’t appear to fire the gun, but police said they responded to the scene to investigate a ‘ShotSpotter activation’ – a security technology that detects gunfire.
Officers ‘located evidence of a shooting’ but nobody sustained any gunshot wounds, police said. Nobody was arrested.
A California liquor store worker is seen pointing a gun at a rowdy group of people on Saturday afternoon
Video showed young men hitting and punching the employee just before he brought the gun out
The violent moment started with the worker, who was dressed in a black T-shirt, had long dark hair and sported tattoos on his arm, having a conversation with a young man in a red hoodie who later slapped him across the face.
The employee’s hat flew off his head as another young man slapped him multiple times.
The employee quickly shuffled into the store, followed by a large crowd of bikers.
He proceeded to grab a handgun as the mob sped out of the shop, screaming.
The store employee led the crowd outside before he turned around and pointed the weapon at the gathering.
He then waved the firearm around as the crowd quickly picked up their bikes and frantically fled the scene.
Before the violent moment broke out, the employee got into a heated argument with people outside the store
The employee rushed into the liquor store as the mob of people followed behind
While some people got away, others stayed near the store while the employee ran around with the gun still in hand and yelled at them.
At one point, he approached a man in a gray hoodie and pushed him to the pavement.
The worker continued to scream and appeared to put the gun away as more people cleared the area.
He then walked over to the front of the liquor shop, picked up his hat and yelled at a man in jeans, a face mask and black hoodie.
Another man, dressed in a white T-shirt and black pants, stepped between the two and appeared to try to break up the heated argument.
A separate video posted to X showed a different angle of the heated exchange just moments before the employee grabbed a gun.

A man in a red hat told the employee: ‘I’m not shoplifting, that’s a kid shoplifting, and you handled that.’
‘But you’re threatening three motherf******,’ he added.
‘I’m not threatening nobody, I said back the f*** off me,’ the employee responded.
The young man in the red sweatshirt then asked him: ‘Why you pulling out guns on kids, bro?’
‘Did you see me pull out of gun?’ the employee asked as he stepped closer to the young man.
It is unclear exactly what sparked the heated confrontation.
