Jessica Gomes would like to see herself on the small screen.
The n model, who has starred in Sports Illustrated, has her sets sight on acting, and she knows the perfect show for her – UK period drama Bridgerton.
‘That would be a dream role for me’ the 38-year-old tells this week’s issue of Stellar Magazine.
‘It’s shooting in England, they’re diverse with their casts and I think to join a period piece like that would be fun’ she continued.
‘Apparently, some of the actresses got horse riding lessons and a dialect coach. And then you get to wear those dresses…’
Jessica recently moved back to after years of jet setting around the globe for her modelling work, and being based in the USA.
She’s now living in Bryon Bay, NSW, a bohemian seaside town where the likes of Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky have a home.
‘At this stage of my life, I really feel that nature is part of that balance for me to keep myself healthy and to re-energise to take on the next project’ she says of the move.

‘I find nature very healing, it makes me feel at peace and it also inspires me. I love to write and paint, to have some quiet time and sort of seclude myself’.
Best known as the face of David Jones, Jessica first made a foray into acting with Transformers: Age of Extinction in 2014.
She has since gone on to appear in Once Upon A Time In Venice and Father Figures, both in 2017.
‘Acting has always been there and I felt like now was the right time and a lot of doors have opened for me,’ she said on Today Extra.

‘I have always felt like I am more than just a model. I am lots of things. I am an artist. I love to create. I’m an actor,’ she said.
‘It is important to show your true self and acting has definitely given me a lot more confidence and has made me break out of my shell.’
In the past, Jessica has been open about being labelled ‘too curvy’ by the fashion industry during her early days as a model.
She told Stellar magazine in 2021 how one encounter back in 2006 left her feeling deeply demoralised.

Jessica, who is of Portuguese, Singaporean and Chinese heritage, attended a casting in New York City where the director sighed and prodded her breasts after fitting her in an outfit.
‘I felt really bad about myself,’ Jessica told the magazine. ‘I was getting knocked back by a lot of fashion brands because I was too curvy.’
In hindsight, the rejection turned out to be a blessing, with Sports Illustrated booking her shortly thereafter.
Having modelled for more than two decades, Jessica is now busier than ever, not only fronting fashion campaigns, but also turning her hand to business and acting.
