Miley Cyrus revealed she ended up in the ICU over Thanksgiving after contracting a brutal infection that left her leg ‘disintegrating’—and even made a seasoned surgeon gag.
The 32-year-old pop star opened up about the harrowing experience during Thursday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, explaining the bizarre cause of the injury: rolling around on the grimy Hollywood Walk of Fame while shooting a music video for her visual album Something Beautiful last October.
‘I caught something,’ she told Kimmel. ‘My leg began to disintegrate… around the kneecap area. And then the doctor goes, “Do you have any idea why you would have such a brutal infection on your kneecap?”‘
Cyrus mimed rolling on the sidewalk as she explained how she had to come clean about the source.
‘I had to tell him,’ she said. ‘To have a surgeon look at you and say, “Yuck…” They open up cadavers. They see inside the guts of humans, and they’re looking at me, telling me I’m disgusting. And they do brain operations!’

The three-time Grammy winne appeared on The Zane Lowe Show on Apple Music 1 last week, where she opened up in detail about a harrowing health scare as 2022 turned into 2023.
The Franklin, Tennessee native had been working with her godmother Dolly Parton on her TV special Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party when an ovarian cyst ruptured.
The End of the World singer said she ‘had a pretty traumatic experience on a show that I was doing with’ SNL creator Lorne Michaels.
Miley said, ‘I had a medical emergency – I had an ovarian cyst rupture – we didn’t know exactly what was going on so we did it.’

Miley said that she stuck to the credo that the show must go on, despite severe physical symptoms that likely would have sidelined other performers.
‘It was pretty traumatic because it was extremely excruciating and I did the show anyway,’ Cyrus said on the music-focused chat show.
The Slide Away songstress emphasized that taking the stage with the ailment ‘was really really hard on’ her.
In the interview, she also talked about staying sober, and what a massive impact its had on her dat-to-day dealings.
Miley, who gave up marijuana and alcohol over the past 10 years, explained, ‘I need it. I live for it. It’s changed my entire life.’
She added: ‘I’ve learned this about myself over the years: sobriety is, like, that’s like my God.’
