A Michigan hospital is under lockdown after staff received an alert about an active shooter.
Police have raced to Corewell Health Beaumont Troy following reports about a gunman on site.
Those at the hospital, located 24 miles north of Detroit, are being told to shelter in place while other members of the public are being urged to avoid the area.
‘THIS IS AN EMERGENCY — There is an ACTIVE SHOOTER Troy Hospital in the Parking Structure building,’ the warning read, Click on Detroit reports.
‘Police are enroute. Please take immediate personal safety measure and follow the run, hide, fight guidelines.
‘For those not currently at the facility, stay away. Do not return to the facility until the all clear has been signaled.’
