Michelle Keegan has long-been famed for her ripped physique and stunning good looks, along with her acting prowess.
And since hitting the spotlight at the tender age of 20 playing Tina McIntyre in Coronation Street, the stunning star, 36, has shown the evolution of her figure through health and fitness via interviews and social media.
A decade after her husband Mark Wright proclaimed she has ‘the perfect figure’, Michelle, who is currently hitting headlines for her critically-acclaimed appearance in Fool Me Once, has spoken candidly about both her diet and gym routine.
Proving herself to be the ultimate Girl Next Door, the stunner has previously spoken about her love of fast food, pizza and burgers, her penchant for melted cheese and her love of a cheeky midnight Magnum in bed.
This may be hard to believe for some, but Michelle has also confessed that her gym trips range from two to four times a week and stated that she does not believe in diets but is a staunch advocate for ‘everything in moderation’.
So how does Michelle maintain her phenomenal frame?

EXERCISE
Michelle has spoken at length about her exercise regime, having revealed in the past that she struggled with hitting the gym.
In later years however with the assistance of husband Mark, who she married in 2015, and their home workout set-ups, she has managed to overhaul her gym vibe.
In 2021, she revealed her attitude to exercise has changed over the years, after previously feeling ‘guilty’ for not working out consistently.
She told how she would spend hours in the gym out of week if she had a ‘bad week’ with food and exercise, but she has told how her frame of mind has changed and will no longer beat herself up if she doesn’t keep up with her fitness.

She said: ‘It was always the guilt for me, a lot of the time, and why I would be in the gym for two hours because I was like ‘oh I’ve really been bad this week, so I need to go to the gym, I need to work it off… And I was in the gym for two hours.’
Michelle went on to detail how Mark’s regimen helped her with her own after he set up his own fitness app with his brother Josh for home workouts: ‘The fact that he would roll out of bed, go into the garden…
‘And I could hear him setting up live outside and I thought ‘I’ve literally got no excuse, I’m in the bedroom. I did it there and then – got my gym mat on the floor and I did half an hour HIIT in the bedroom, and it just set me up for the day…
‘[It] made me feel a lot more positive with what was going on at that time.’
Speaking again about the ‘guilt’ element of the gym, she said: ‘I only set myself a target to spend 45 minutes in the gym and then I’m done…
‘I think it’s important to do everything in moderation. Set yourself a realistic goal so that you have something to work towards. If I really, really don’t want to go to the gym – I don’t go. I just don’t punish myself, it’s not my life to go the gym…
‘If I can go to the gym I will, if I can’t, I can’t. I think the more you go, the more you guilt trip yourself because you feel like it’s part of your routine. If I can go four or five times a week, great. If I can only go twice – or once – at least I’ve been.’
Touching on her different types of exercise, she said last year: ‘I’ve taken up cycling on a proper road bike, We go out three times a week and do 11 miles!…
‘It’s been nice because we’ve both been working from home. Normally we could be out all day or I have to go to Manchester [to film Brassic] or Mark is in London.’

Michelle has always been candid about her diet and admitted that she widely varies what she consumes to ensure she ticks all boxes (pictured in September)
She previously told Women’s Health: ‘I do like my eggs in the morning. If I was trying to be good, I’d have rye bread, avocado and scrambled egg whites.’

And on the occasion she’s feeling naughty, she said: ‘The same but with cheese on top. Melted cheese! I never feel guilty when I eat cheat food. If I’ve been quite strict all week, I feel like I deserve it. I’m a proper foodie, I love my food’.
She explained: ‘I haven’t worked out for two weeks, but I’m not punishing myself over that. If I want a cheeseboard one night, I’ll have it, without feeling guilty.’
Mark echoed details of her body secrets, as he said in 2014: ‘She doesn’t diet that much. She had a Magnum ice cream at 12 o’clock last night in bed! She just goes to the gym two to three times a week and watches what she eats’.
Echoing the ‘no diet’ stance, she said: ‘I personally do not believe in dieting… and think that you should just eat everything in moderation. For example if I have an unhealthy lunch, I’ll have a healthy dinner and vice versa…
‘I think people would be surprised at how much I actually eat! I have a very big appetite. I love food too much to diet…
‘So for all you people telling me to ‘go eat a burger’ believe me I do. I actually had three this weekend so thanks for your concern but I’m good.’

Aside from diet and exercise, Michelle’s attitude to her body image has evolved as she recently spoke candidly about previous accolades as a ‘sexy soap star’ and shoots with now-defunct lads’ mags such as FHM (pictured in 2016)
ATTITUDE
Aside from diet and exercise, Michelle’s attitude to her body image has evolved as she recently spoke candidly about previous accolades as a ‘sexy soap star’ and shoots with now-defunct lads’ mags such as FHM.
She told The Guardian: ‘It was the norm back then to do sexy spreads in men’s magazines and go to the award ceremonies where they’d have ‘sexiest female’…
‘I was never comfortable with it. Yes, I felt pressure and I am a bit of a people pleaser, I try to go with the flow. But there was something in me that was like, ‘I really don’t want this. I don’t want to be on the front cover in my underwear.’..
‘So, eventually, I gathered the courage…’ [To say no?] ‘No, to ask for a cardigan. Once I was like, no no, I don’t like it, so to fix it they put a bobble hat on my head.’ [The sexiest female awards were] embarrassing…
‘Because I was in a lot of heavy storylines. There was one where I felt like I was crying every day for months and months. And then at the end of it, when the accolade was sexiest female, it was so frustrating….
‘And the funny thing is, I’m not sexy! I’ve never been sexy! My friends have always laughed about it. Even when I say the word it makes me cringe.’
Despite not believing herself to be sexy, Mark wholly disagrees, as he previously revealed: ‘She doesn’t [believe me when I tell her she’s got the perfect body]…
‘She’s just like, ‘Oh shut up, you’re just saying that.’ But she has got the perfect body. Her body’s always been great. Back in the day before she met me, she had a great body. That’s not really changed.’
