The police officer placed on administrative duties after the detainment of Tyreek Hill has been named as veteran cop Danny Torres.

The Miami-Dade Police Department unmasked the officer on Tuesday, a day after dramatic bodycam footage showed the Dolphins star being dragged from his car and placed in handcuffs.

The wide receiver was pinned to the floor while driving to the Dolphins’ season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Torres has worked for the force for nearly three decades but he was moved on to administrative duties pending an investigation into the incident.

‘Officer Danny Torres, 27-year tenure, remains in administrative duties, as the Internal Affairs investigation is still ongoing,’ the MDPD told CBS.

‘We will provide further information once it becomes available pending the outcome of the investigation.’

On Tuesday, the police citations revealed that Hill was detained over careless driving – which carries a $179 fine – and for a seatbelt violation – which comes with a $129 fine.

Before his identity was revealed, Torres’ attorneys called for his ‘immediate reinstatement’, branding the decision to put him on administrative duties ‘premature.’

But Hill’s agent and his teammate Jalen Ramsey have both called for the cops involved to be fired over their treatment of the NFL star.

On Monday night, meanwhile, the Dolphins described the bodycam video as ‘both maddening and heartbreaking’.

The team vowed to stand with Hill and called for ‘swift and strong action’ against the officers guilty of ‘overly aggressive’, ‘violent’ and ‘despicable’ behavior.

The receiver was dragged from his car and forced down on to the road. A cop then put his knee on the receiver’s back and grabbed his hands as a fellow officer put on handcuffs.

Hill was released a few minutes later but not before his teammate Calais Campbell was also put in cuffs.
