The Met Police’s anti-gangs squad has cordoned off Belsize park after ‘gunshots’ were heard in a north London street.
Officers were called to Fitzjohn’s Avenue at around 4pm over reports of guns being fired in the area.
At this moment there have been no reported injuries, but a police cordon remains in place as the investigation is ongoing.
The force has said that the case is being examined by the Trident Unit, which deals with gun and gang crime.
A road closure is currently in place at Fitzjohn’s Avenue both ways from Finchley Road to Nutley Terrace
Images from the scene show multiple police cars in place to protect the scene, as well as officers searching for evidence on the ground.
Belsize Park is known to be home to the rich and famous, including stars Helena Bonham-Carter, Jude Law, and Cameron Diaz, who are often seen walking its attractive tree-lined streets.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: ‘Police were called to Fitzjohn’s Avenue, NW3 at approximately 4pm on Friday (January 3) to reports of gun shots.
‘There were no reported injuries and no arrests have been made at this time. The investigation remains ongoing and officers are carrying out detailed enquiries.
‘Cordons remain in place while the scene continues to be examined for evidence.
‘Any witnesses are asked to call 101 and quote reference 4422/03JAN.’
