Donald and Melania Trump arrived together at the Al Smith dinner in New York City smiling and looking happy.

The dinner is a longstanding tradition to support Catholic charities around the city and has been frequented many times by presidential candidates.

Melania was seen wearing a sophisticated tuxedo-like suit next to Donald who was looking dapper in a similar tuxedo ensemble.

The former first lady was seen smiling and posing alongside her hubby who is just weeks away from Election Day.

Images of the Trumps at the dinner show them socializing with top politicians and stars.

Melania and Donald were seen chatting closely at times and in deep discussion at their table.

When the former president entered the room he raised his fist, commanding attention.

Melania stood next to him, right at his side, as he took in cheers of approval.

It is a rare appearance for the ex-first lady who has not been seen with her husband on the campaign trail since this summer.

After not having been spotted alongside her husband since the Republican National Convention in July, some questions had been raised about her decision to stay away from his campaign.

Since Donald announced his candidacy she has only been spotted at a few rallies and events.

Melania has been in the headlines recently though for her book which released October 8.

The memoir, titled ‘Melania’ features excerpts on abortion rights and her life as first lady.

She is also selling a collector’s edition which features hundreds of photos she took while living in the White House.

The Al Smith dinner is an annual fundraiser for Catholic charities and has hosted major presidential candidates since John F. Kennedy first attended in the 1960s.

Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris was invited to attend but she chose not to.

When the announcement came that Harris ‘cannot make it here in person’ and that instead  the audience ‘will be joined by her later via video’ the crowd began to boo.

Videos show the boos breaking out just seconds after the announcement was made.

Trump called it ‘disrespectful’ that Harris di not attend.

He also joked that the last Democrat that did not attend the dinner was Walter Mondale, who lost the election in a landslide to Ronald Reagan.

House Speaker Mike Johnson, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and embattled NYC Mayor Eric Adams are all in attendance.

Notably, RFK Jr. was spotted with his wife Cheryl Hines after it was revealed he was caught up in an affair with journalist Olivia Nuzzi weeks ago.
