Megan Moroney has responded to a fan who criticized her hair following her appearance at the 2024 CMA Awards on Wednesday night.

The 27-year-old country singer — who won New Artist of the Year at the ceremony — left a comment on a TikTok video in which a social media user critiqued the color of her long, voluminous, frosty blonde locks.

The person, a hairstylist named Melissa, recorded Megan accepting her award and wrote over the clip: ‘I swear the hairstylist brain never shuts off. Who matched her extensions???’

She explained her gripe in the caption, writing about the tones in Megan’s hair, ‘She’s golden on the top and ashy ends.’

The Am I Okay? music artist sarcastically responded in the comments, ‘Very nice of u!’ Her clapback has so far received more than 14,000 likes.

Many people came to Moroney’s defense, with one writing under the snippet, ‘Who cares?! She’s Megan Moroney and she looked absolutely stunning!’

‘Clock that tea Megan!! you’re the definition of stunning!! I love your music!’ one user said, while another weighed in, ‘As a fellow extension blondie, it’s the lighting! You looked beautiful, congratulations!’

One fan reasoned that the stage’s powerful lights were to blame: ‘It’s the lighting! Hairstylist or not why point that out when you should be pointing out what she just won! She’s so talented!’

Another pointed out, ‘I saw it, but honestly thought it was the lighting that made it look that way.. I didn’t notice it like that when she was performing.’

One attendee said of Moroney’s mane: ‘It didn’t look like that in person AT ALL. Her hairstylist is amazing!’

A viewer said that Moroney ‘literally … looked BEAUTIFUL,’ at the industry event, adding, ‘Her hair slayed, the outfit slayed … like they need to leave her alone.’

Someone else shared a different perspective: ‘Girl.. this person is commenting from the couch.. [you’re] making the speech. You looked flawless!’

And one user encouraged Moroney, ‘You looked beautiful Meg, don’t let this one comment overshadow the hundreds others praising you!’

The songstress styled her flowy tresses in a side part and uniform barrel curls that spilled down her back and over her chest for the glitzy affair.

Moroney had a busy evening Wednesday at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, where she accepted an award and also performed her hit Am I Okay? during a segment.

For the special occasion, the Douglasville, Georgia native strutted the red carpet in a custom royal blue Christian Siriano mermaid gown with a statement-making tulle skirt.

The fashionista complemented the gown with Giuseppe Zanotti heels and a personalized Edie Parker clutch that spelled her latest album title, Am I Okay?, in blue cursive letters.

She later changed up her ensemble, slipping into a sparkly silver mini dress with a sweetheart neckline and flirty, flared skirt.

The glinting getup was rounded out with a pair of to-the-knee white cowboy boots.

She highlighted her fanbase, saying, ‘This is for the fans… they’re a large reason why I’m up here right now.

‘The way they show up for me, the way they care about my songs, and they make signs and T-shirts, and they wait outside the venue starting at 3 a.m. It’s really insane to me.’
