The Editor-in-Chief of The Hill has predicted that Lara Trump may someday run for president, claiming she has ‘that kind of talent’.

Bob Cusack claimed on NewsNation that the 42-year-old, who is married to the president-elect’s son Eric, could be the next in the family to step up to the role as commander-in-chief.

His comments came as pressure is already starting to build on Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to appoint Lara Trump as Marco Rubio’s Senate replacement.

‘I think, out of all the Trump’s, watch her. She may run for president someday,’ Cusack said. ‘At some point. I think she has that kind of talent.’

‘I think she needs some kind of step in between, and I do think that the pressure on DeSantis is only going to intensify, and it’s really going to be revealing – either he’s going to listen to Trump world, or he’s not.’

Trump’s daughter-in-law has said she would ‘love’ to serve in the Senate as her name began floating around to be Rubio’s successor.

Lara Trump told Fox News host Sean Hannity: ‘This is my home state now and has been for three years.’

The president-elect appointed his daughter-in-law as co-chair of the Republican National Committee in March earlier this year, as she was unanimously voted in to the position.

‘I was truly honored to be the co-chair of the RNC through really the most historic election, I think, of any of our lifetimes,’ she said.

She added that she and her team ‘accomplished on everything that we set out to do.’

‘Likewise, if I am able to serve, I would love to serve the people of Florida. This is my home state now and has been for three years. This is where Eric and I live, and truly to have that opportunity, I think would be incredible,’ she gushed.

‘No one knows better than I do the America First agenda or the goals of Donald Trump in the coming four years. So, if I am asked, I would love to consider it, but I have yet to have a conversation with Governor DeSantis, so we will have to see.’

Republican Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna has also publicly endorsed Lara Trump for the position, Luna said on a conservative talk show: ‘I’m actually going to make a public call for Gov. DeSantis to appoint Lara Trump to fill Marco Rubio’s term in office.’

‘I think she is the best fit,’ Luna said, adding Lara is ‘largely responsible for securing president Trump’s win.’

Lara Trump also would likely be able to win the Senate seat in two years when the election for Rubio’s vacated seat will be held, Luna believes.

‘I think Lara Trump would avoid a really nasty primary in two years when that seat then comes open. And I think that she has the qualifications, she proved herself as a national leader.’

But Luna is not the only lawmaker calling for Lara Trump’s Senate appointment.

'I think she needs some kind of step in between, and I do think that the pressure on DeSantis is only going to intensify, and it's really going to be revealing - either he's going to listen to Trump world, or he's not,' Cusack said

Freshman Sen. Katie Britt, R-Ala., also is backing the RNC co-chair.

Britt told Axios Lara Trump would be a ‘tremendous pick’ and also cited her ‘historic win’ while overseeing the RNC.

‘She understands the America First agenda,’ said Britt, who is also 42-year-old working mother.

‘For me, I think she would be a tremendous pick, a voice for hard working families and another mom of school aged kids that understands what we’re up against, and that’s to fight to protect the American dream,’ the Alabama senator said.

Britt’s fellow Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville also liked the idea of Lara Trump as a possible co-worker.

‘I think she’d be good If she wants to get into it,’ Tuberville told DailyMail.com.

Montana Republican Senator-elect Tim Sheehy similarly said Lara Trump joining Congress sounds like ‘a good idea.’

‘I don’t know anything about Florida politics. I’m from Montana,’ Sheehy told DailyMail.com. ‘But it’s sounds like a good idea to me. We’ll see what happens.’

Other Republicans, meanwhile, stayed silent when asked their thoughts about Trump’s daughter-in-law joining the Senate.

Sens. Steve Daines of Montana and Chuck Grassley of Iowa both did not answer questions from DailyMail.com about Lara Trump’s possible appointment to the upper chamber.

Billionaire X owner Elon musk on Tuesday also threw his support behind Lara.

‘Lara Trump is genuinely great,’ he posted.

Rubio’s pick has received a strong reception from Republicans, as his experience in the agency would help stacked up against Trump cabinet choices that shocked Republicans.

‘Leading the U.S. Department of State is a tremendous responsibility, and I am honored by the trust President Trump has placed in me,’ Rubio wrote after the announcement. ‘I will work every day to carry out his foreign policy agenda.’

Whoever DeSantis picks would serve until a 2026 special election. DeSantis, who may still harbor presidential ambitions despite ending his campaign against Trump after Iowa, must decide whether to appoint a ‘caretaker,’ someone who would run to maintain the seat, or even himself.

Wrote Trump loyalist Anna Paulina Luna, ‘@LaraLeaTrump needs to be the nominated replacement by @GovDestantis for Rubio. She will keep the seat and avoid a messy primary for FLORIDA. Well spoken. Kicked butt on election integrity. Etc.’

Scott also jumped to get behind the effort to make Trump the junior senator from his state. ‘RT if you think @LaraLeaTrump should be Florida’s next Senator!,’ he posted on X.
