Sunrise host Matt Shirvington turned the heat up on Sunday when he channeled Tom Cruise in the hit movie Risky Business at Seven’s record-breaking Telethon in Perth.

The TV presenter, 44, dressed up as Cruise’s character in the iconic 1983 film as he took to the stage to recreate the iconic scene of him singing Old Time Rock and Roll.

Shirvo looked every inch the superstar in a crisp white shirt which he paired with matching boxer shorts and dance shoes.

He accessorised with Ray-Ban sunglasses and his hair was slicked back in a perfect recreation of Cruise’s cutting edge 1980s style.

Shirvo could not wipe the smile off his face as he danced up a storm while belting out the Bob Seger tune.

The former athlete exuded confidence and style as he effortlessly mimed playing a guitar on stage and hammed it up with his team of back-up dancers.

He has every reason to smile as his hilarious contribution to the annual Telethon helped Seven raise a record-breaking $77.5million this year for children’s charities.

Last week, Shirvo told Perth Now viewers wouldn’t be disappointed by his performance at the Telethon.

‘I will be wearing a very large button up shirt. It’s not full exposure,’ he said.

‘You will have to wait to see. I think it will be a good performance. I can’t guarantee my singing skills but I can guarantee it will be fun to watch.’

Matt joined a star-studded line-up, including co-host Natalie Barr, for Channel Seven’s TV marathon of 26 hours to raise money for WA’s sick kids.

Last year, Seven’s celebrities were able to raise a jaw-dropping fundraising tally of $71,356,721.
