A man has been shot by police after stabbing multiple people inside an Illinois Toyota car dealership.
The assailant knifed at least one employee and attacked multiple other people inside the Brian Bemis Toyota dealership on Sycamore Road.
Police in DeKalb County repeatedly ordered the assailant to put down the knife, and opened fire when he refused.
City Manager Bill Nicklas said while multiple staff suffered stab wounds, none of the injuries were life threatening.
‘DeKalb police responded to a call where a person was wielding a knife and stabbing employees,’ Nicklas told the Daily Chronicle in DeKalb County.

The assailant was not a staff member or employee of the dealership, and was reportedly armed with multiple knives
‘Police responded and commanded the alleged assailant to cease. He did not comply, and the incident ended in a police-involved shooting.’
One of the injured employees received a stab wound “to an extremity,” according NBC Chicago.
The alleged suspect was taken to hospital. His condition was listed as stable and he was expected to survive.
Police do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the public.
