Ryan Gosling’s I’m Just Ken performance was easily one of the most talked-about performance of the 2024 Oscars, and even director Martin Scorsese was a fan.
The 81-year-old director was nominated for both Best Director and Best Picture for Killers of the Flower Moon (his 15th and 16th nominations) at the Oscars.
While the filmmaker came up empty-handed, he had a great seat for Gosling’s now-iconic performance, and he was seen flashing a huge smile during the song.
His daughter Francesca Scorsese, 24, who he shares with wife Helen Morris, shared video from the performance on her Instagram story on Sunday evening.
Francesca shared two videos, one where some of the dancers were right next to him in the aisle as he was looking on.

Her father smiled and laughed while turning back to the performance in the first video, as she continued to laugh.
The second video was taken towards the end of the song, as Martin looked back with a huge smile, nodding his with a laugh.
Francesca zoomed out briefly to show both the father and daughter together before showing the final sequence of the routine.
The video also saw Barbie director Greta Gerwig and stars Margot Robbie and America Ferrera cheering for Gosling.
As the song came to a close, Scorsese nodded his head and clapped for for the performance as the video came to an end.
Francesca’s Instagram story also showcased her father watching Scott George & The Osage Singers performing their Oscar-nominated song Wahzhazhe from Killers of the Flower Moon.
The director was seemingly beaming with pride, while his star Lily Gladstone was standing while watching the performance.

She also shared a humorous meme comparing her father’s reaction to Eminem’s performance of Lose Yourself at the 2020 Oscars, 17 years after he won Best Original Song for that track from the 8 Mile soundrtrack.
