MAFS bride Sara Mesa has opened up about the aftermath of her infamous cheating scandal, detailing the emotional turmoil and public backlash she’s faced.
‘Watching it all back has been really rough,’ Sara, 29, told Daily Mail on Wednesday.
The Sydney-based nutritionist admitted that reliving her experience has prompted her to confront aspects of her behaviour she’s not proud of.
‘It’s made me feel really sad, especially for the way that I’ve treated Tim. I have so many regrets… It’s like putting up a mirror to a lot of the things that I need to work on myself, and in relationships.’
The days following the cheating revelations were particularly grueling.

‘It was a super-emotional and stressful week,’ she describes. The intensity of the experiment nearly drove her to the edge.
‘I was ready to just leave the experiment… I hadn’t had enough with everything going on and I knew that Tim and I weren’t gonna be able to work on our relationship when everyone was down our throats about it.’
Despite the scandal, Sara and Tim, 31, had started to rekindle their connection.

‘It felt really hard…we actually did feel that spark again,’ she reveals. But the weight of the situation was crushing.
‘Everybody hated me… my mental health was just absolutely shot to s**t.’
The toll on her well-being was made worse during Feedback Week, during a task that involved a relentless line of questioning from Jayden Eynaud and his partner Eden Harper.
‘No matter what I say, you’re not going to believe me,’ she recalled feeling at the time.

Reflecting on her actions, Sara expresses remorse and the desire to have handled things differently.
‘If I could go back and do it differently, I would have told [Tim],’ she asserts, acknowledging that her approach at the dinner party could have been more compassionate.
The public’s reaction has been another hurdle, one that even caught Sara off guard despite considering herself tough-skinned.
‘The reaction from the public has been crazy,’ she says, expressing an understanding of the viewers’ sentiments.

Despite the negative portrayal, she’s seeking support from loved ones and focusing on personal growth.
‘It’s a shame that the show is really showing me as this one-dimensional person,’ she laments.
Amid the storm, Sara is committed to proving her detractors wrong and fighting for her relationship with Tim.
Looking ahead, Sara was fortified by Tim’s support going into the next dinner party.
‘He was going to have my back 100%,’ she shares, grateful for their united front amidst the ongoing drama.
