Congress is further devolving into unseriousness as Republicans hurl weight insults at each other on the House floor and members submit outlandish amendments for the House’s foreign aid package.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is demanding ‘space lasers’ at the southern border.

The firebrand Georgia Republican submitted an amendment for the $26 billion Israel aid bill that would install ‘space laser technology on the southwest border,’ in a trolling of her own notorious conspiracy about Jewish space lasers controlling the weather.

She called to mind ‘space lasers’ that defend Israel’s border – likely referring to Israe’s on-the-ground laser defense system, known as the Iron Beam.

In a 2018 Facebook post Greene theorized that a huge California wildfire had been caused by ‘laser beam or a light beam’ being sent down from space by the Rothschilds.

Meanwhile Rep. Derrick Van Orden, R-Wis., called Rep. Matt Gaetz ‘tubby’ on the House floor after he said Gaetz called him a ‘squish.’

It came while Speaker Mike Johnson was huddling with conservative hardliners who want to boot him from his job over the $95 billion foreign aid package with bills to fund Ukraine, Israel and the Indo-Pacific he is planning to put on the House floor.

Another Greene amendment would require anyone who votes to fund the war in Ukraine be conscripted into the Ukrainian military.

An amendment submitted by Rep. Jared Moskowitz, D-Fla., would designate Greene as ‘Vladimir Putin’s Special Envoy to the U.S. and another would rename Greene’s office the ‘Neville Chamberlain Room,’ in reference to the former UK prime minister known for appeasing Adolf Hitler ahead of World War II.

A motion to vacate has loomed over Johnson’s head since Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene launched the bid to oust him last month. The Georgia Republican is a staunch opponent to Ukraine aid and has already threatened to try to boot Johnson if he brings it to the floor.

With Republicans’ razor-thin majority, Johnson can only afford to lose three Republicans and keep his job.

The package in total would offer $26 billion to Israel, $60 billion to Ukraine and $8 billion to the Indo-Pacific, a combination of military and humanitarian aid. It is made up of four separate bills, including one for each region.

The Israel security bill will offer $4 billion to replenish Israel’s Iron Dome Missile Defense system and billions more for weapons systems, artillery and munitions, as well as an additional $2.4 billion for U.S. operations in the region.

Nine billion dollars in that bill goes to humanitarian relief for Palestinians in Gaza.

‘Some of my colleagues want the speaker of the House to have a magic wand,’ Johnson said on Fox News after releasing the bills’ text and as some of his colleagues threaten to oust him over them.

He seemed resigned to the new motion to vacate threats. ‘If Marjorie brings the motion, she brings the motion and let the chips fall where they may.’
