Appearing on the The Tonight Show last month, Margaret was asked about a rumour that she stars in the upcoming comedy sequel Happy Gilmore 2.

‘The rumours are true,’ Margaret said with glee, admitting, ‘It was the best thing that ever happened to me. It’s a tiny part. I’m essentially deep background, but I can die happy now.’

As it turns out, Jack came through with an assist… by lying to Adam Sandler via text.

‘I saw that there was an announcement, like, there’s going to be a a Happy Gilmore 2. And I emailed my agents right away. And I said, “Anything it takes. No part is too small. Please! I got to be a part of this. I beg of you, please, whatever it takes,’ she admitted.

Then at some point, Adam texted Jack, asking, ‘Does your wife golf at all?’ He replied, ‘Yeah, she’s actually good!’

Adam replied, ‘No way,’ as Jack asked, ‘We talking ‘Gilmore’ or charity golf tournament?’

Adam replied, ‘Gilmore. might bug her for a couple days, funny thing. She’d be awesome.’

Margaret admitted, ‘What a good husband. And I can’t golf. He lied for the sake of the family. Yeah.’

As for the sport of golf, she admitted, ‘Never golfed a day in my life. I’m terrible, actually.’

She added that she went into a barn to hit some golf balls for the first time and she did take some lessons, ‘But mostly I’m still bad.’

When asked about the experience working with Adam, she said, ‘He’s the best. It was the best thing that’s ever happened to me.’
