A 73-year-old man has died after drowning at a popular beach.
Emergency services rushed to Cabbage Tree Bay at Norah Head, on the New South Wales Central Coast, about 6.20pm on Tuesday.
The man was pulled unconscious from the water with members of the public performing CPR until police arrived.
Paramedics arrived soon after and he was taken to Wyong Hospital where he died a short time later.
NSW Police commenced an investigation into the incident and will prepare a report for the Coroner.
The 73-year-old’s death marks the 55th since the beginning of the 2024-25 summer, beginning December 1, according to the Royal Life Saving Summer Drowning Toll.
