A man has been arrested after a woman was found dead in a home in regional Victoria.
Emergency services were called to the Kangaroo Flat home near Bendigo shortly before midnight late Sunday after reports of woman was injured.
A woman, 46, was found unresponsive suffering from serious injuries inside the home and she was rushed to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Two primary school-aged children were found at the home uninjured.
It’s currently not known whether the children witnessed the alleged attack or whether they were one who called triple-0.

A Junortoun man 44, was arrested in a reservoir 20km away in Harcourt North five hours later following an extensive ground search by Victoria Police assisted by its air wing unit.
He’s currently assisting police with their inquiries.
‘The investigation is ongoing,’ a police spokeswoman said.
Homicide squad detectives and forensic officers remain at the single storey home on Monday morning.
A section of High Street remains cordoned off.
‘The area has been cordoned off and a crime scene has been established,’ police said.
