A man has been granted permission to visit his girlfriend in a Brazilian prison where she is serving a sentence for cutting off his penis.
Gilberto de Oliveira, 40, had his male organ cut by Daiane Farias, 34, in December 2023 after she discovered him having sex with her 15-year-old niece.
In a September 14 court ruling, Campinas, São Paulo Judge Giuliana Herculian approved the visit, which will take place in mid-October, Brazilian news outlet O Globo reported.
However, the judge blocked the couple from having intimate relations at the prison over concerns that de Oliveira could use his penis strap and kill Farias, the mother of his daughter.
The visit will take place in a room where they will be separated by a glass wall, preventing them from touching each other.
Farias was upset by the judge’s decision to prevent them from having sex in a jail cell.
‘I don’t think it’s fair not to have the right to make love,’ Farias said in a recent letter she wrote to Nogueira.
De Oliveira saw the court’s decision as another roadblock that the couple would overcome.
‘My love for you, Daiane, is greater than anything,’ he wrote in a letter. ‘It goes beyond the infinite. Not even the Justice of men can understand.’
The 34-year-old mother-of-three, who has a daughter with de Oliveira, carried out her revenge December 22, 2023, 10 days after she busted him in bed with her niece.
Farias tied de Oliveira’s hands to the bed headboard while having sexual intercourse and cut off his penis with a razor.
She took a photo of the severed genital and shared it on the family WhatsApp chat and then flushed it away.
In a February interview with O Globo, de Oliveira said that Farias deserved to spend time in jail because she was a ‘criminal.’
But he had a change of heart in April and announced that he had resumed the relationship with Farias, who works as a manicurist in prison.
‘If I hadn’t had sex with (her) niece on my partner’s birthday, none of this would have happened,’ de Oliveira told the outlet, adding that she was ‘a wonderful, loving woman who loves me. She didn’t deserve to be betrayed like that.’
Farias was facing a 50-year sentence for attempted murder.
She was sentenced to four years and eight months at a May court hearing.
