A majority of home buyers would consider a haunted house, as sky-rocketing prices in the housing market has left Americans spooked.
A survey by Zillow Group Inc. found 67 percent potential home buyers could be convinced to put up with a few ghosts in the attic if it checked all their boxes.
The poll on 901 recent home buyers and 993 prospective buyers demonstrate the extreme compromises Americans are willing to make in today’s housing market, the company wrote in a press release.
More than one-third of prospective home buyers said they would buy a haunted house if the price is lower, and 40 percent of home buyers said the same if the house had features like a big backyard, a pool, or a two-car garage.
Among recent home buyers, a surprising 12 percent said they are convinced their home is definitely haunted.
‘The combination of high prices, limited inventory and rising interest rates is creating a witches’ brew of trouble for would-be homeowners,’ said Manny Garcia, a senior population scientist at Zillow.
