A man has been arrested after a woman’s body was found at ‘s National Zoo & Aquarium in Canberra.
Police were called to the zoo about 12:50pm on Monday after reports of a disturbance.
Officers arrived and found a woman deceased in a commercial kitchen area.
A 29-year-old man was arrested at the scene and has been taken to hospital under police guard.

The zoo has been closed, and police do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the public at this time.
There are several eating facilities at the zoo, including a snack van, cafe, and a bistro.

Visitors were reportedly permitted to go while investigations got underway, but were asked to provide their phone numbers to officers.
