Supporters of President Donald Trump on Monday got up early to get in line for the unusual inaugural parade scheduled to go through Capitol One stadium in Washington, D.C.
Inauguration organizers moved the celebrations indoors as temperatures in Washington, DC were in the mid-20s combined with a stiff cold breeze blowing through the streets.
Even the inauguration parade was moved to Capitol One arena nearby the White House, abandoning the traditional march down Pennsylvania Ave.
Trump supporters arrived as early as 5:00 am to get in line, and told DailyMail.com they were eager to get in the arena out of the cold.
People standing in line were disappointed that the outdoor inauguration ceremony had been canceled but were making the best of it, in the hopes of getting a seat in the stadium.
Cups of coffee, food, and drinks were abandoned in a pile outside the security checkpoint along with chairs and superfluous items that would not make it through the checkpoints.
‘We’re here to support Trump, we love freedom and we’re ready to see him in office again,’ one woman wearing a large red fur MAGA cap.
‘I think it’s great! I’m very glad to be here,’ one supporter said.
‘I’m most looking forward to getting inside where it’s warm,’ said one supporter from Texas wearing a MAGA Santa Hat.
‘It’s a little too cold,’ said one man wearing a full length face mask as he got closer to the security check point.
One supporter from British Columbia hoisted an Edmonton Oiler’s jersey with Trump’s face on it and the words Drill, Baby, Drill.
‘It’s pretty cold but we stayed prepared,’ said one man who noted he had a great deal of layers on to keep him warm.
‘It’s pretty nice,’ one heavily dressed supporter from Wisconsin told DailyMail.com.
One man from Iowa commented that it was -21 degrees at his home that morning.
‘I’m nice and warm actually, I’m prepared for this, said one woman from California wearing multiple layers under her bejeweled Trump branded pants and leather vest.
Many supporters were surprised to hear that Biden had pardoned Dr. Anthony Fauci, derided by many MAGA supporters as a deep-state villain for his role in shutting the country down for the coronavirus pandemic.
‘Why would you have to pardon him if he’s not guilty?’ Mark from Virginia said.
‘That means he’s guilty,’ William from South Carolina said.
One man, Connor from New Jersey suggested that Biden ‘get a booster’ of the coronavirus vaccine to celebrate.
‘It’s a shame,’ Jessica from Indiana said.
