Married At First Sight fans have criticised Arthur Poremba for making an ‘insensitive’ joke about Jay Howard and Luke Worley’s relationship.

Jay recently got into an argument with her husband over him saying she wouldn’t care if he got another girl’s phone number on a night out, leaving her upset.

At the couples’ retreat, Luke then asked the grooms if they would rob a bank if they knew they would get away with it, seemingly referring to cheating.

And in Thursday’s drama-packed episode, Jordan and Erica both told Jay about Luke’s comments at the dinner party, leaving her fuming that she isn’t a ‘pushover’.

Amid the tension, which came after Luke had to leave the dinner due to illness, Arthur made a joke about Jay taking ‘control’ in her relationship with Luke.

Oh dear: Married At First Sight fans have criticised Arthur Poremba (pictured with his wife Laura) for making an ‘insensitive’ joke about Jay Howard and Luke Worley’s relationship

Paul Liba was given a question card asking if Tasha Jay wanted him to take more ‘control’ in their relationship, prompting Arthur to shout out: ‘That’s for Jay and Luke!’

The fellow newlyweds all appeared completely shocked by his comment, and viewers also took to social media to fume over his ‘insensitive’ and ‘idiotic’ joke.

One said: ‘Nah Arthur was actually an idiot for that like what was the point shouting that? See this is why Laura has to be his mum because that was stupid.’

Another wrote: ‘Arthur what on earth was that???? Nahh why on earth did he do that????? What for a dumb thing was that.’

A third penned: ‘Unbelievable Arthur. Unbelievable If it helps, some people totally laughed,’ and another added: ‘Arthur man that’s so insensitive bro read the room was kind of nonsense joke.’

After Arthur made the joke, he then tried to backtrack as he insisted it was a joke, with Jay warning him to ‘keep your mouth shut’ before leaving the room in tears.

Walking out and talking to Mark Kiley, Jay fumed: ‘F**k them, I don’t care. Am I missing something? Cos I’m sat here crying like a t**t again… I don’t understand why he’s got this perception of me.’

She said of her relationship with Luke: ‘Do you want me to be a d**khead cos I can be d**khead, and you won’t like that side of me.’

Not happy: Arthur made a joke about Jay taking ‘control’ in her relationship with Luke, just moments after Jay had been told about Luke allegedly thinking she is a ‘pushover’

‘Insensitive’: The fellow newlyweds all appeared completely stunned by his comment, and viewers also took to social media to fume over his ‘idiotic’ joke

Upset: After Arthur made the joke, he then tried to backtrack as he insisted it was a joke, with Jay warning him to ‘keep your mouth shut’ before leaving the room in tears

After returning to the table, Jay was asked what her biggest challenge was with Luke, with her saying that it was her partner thinking she is a ‘pushover’.

She said: ‘Well as we all clearly know, it’s probably because Luke thinks I’m a pushover. So that’s the biggest thing we have to overcome, he wants somebody who has more control than he does.’

To which Erica said: ‘You do not need to change the way you are as a person to validate him,’ with Jay vowing: ‘I am telling you now I am not letting no man change me.’

Earlier, Erica and her husband Jordan had told Jay of Luke’s comments which seemingly referred to cheating, leaving her upset.

Speaking after Luke left the dinner due to feeling unwell, Erica told her: ‘He was saying that if he knew he could go and get with another girl, then he could.’

To which Georges said: ‘I am going to defend Luke here, he’s not a cheat,’ but Jay fumed: ‘No but that comment, why has he said that?’

Jay added: ‘It’s made me think he’s disrespected me again, I’m not having it.’

And Jordan said: ‘You’ve got a wife with feelings and emotions, you’re not doing it because you can get away with it… you love that person.’

Peggy also criticised Luke as she said: ‘Unless he’s a cheat, why is he saying about getting other girl’s numbers?’

The morning after the dinner party, Jay was seen confronting Luke over what she had heard from the other couples.

However, Luke claimed that they had taken his remarks out of context and insisted he wasn’t talking about her, before breaking down in tears and storming out.

She said: ‘I had Jordan and Erica stating that when it were the lads day, after the conversation me and you had together, saying if I were to rob a bank lads, would you do it?’

Angry: After returning to the table, Jay was asked what her biggest challenge was with Luke, with her saying that it was her partner thinking she is a ‘pushover’

Tearful: Luke later claimed that they had taken his remarks out of context and insisted he wasn’t talking about her, before breaking down in tears and storming out

But Luke insisted: ‘I did say that comment, but not in the context they’re making out,’ and Jay said: ‘It’s not acceptable either way… you’ve made me look like a mug.’

Luke said: ‘I was talking about in general, in life,’ but Jay hit back with: ‘It looks like it were about me!’

Jay went on: ‘I don’t know what to believe because I was sat there in a room of f**king people… you’ve made this comment, nobody else. I don’t know what to believe, I’ve had it from all angles.’

Storming out and slamming the door, Luke said: ‘I’m actually f**king fuming. This whole f**king thing is a joke. I’m worried where it’s going to leave us, because we’ve been good until now.’

‘It’s the first chance somebody had to ruin it because I’m not there,’ he added as he spoke to camera.

At the couples retreat on Wednesday, Luke had said: ‘Over time, all of us here, if I said to you you would not get caught if you robbed a bank and got £10million, you would go out and rob a bank.

‘Over a period of time, as much as I’m confident in myself and I know I wouldn’t do anything to her, but if someone gives you an inch, eventually you’re going to take a mile, and I don’t want to be put in that situation where it’s just too comfortable.’

A preview clip also saw that tensions are set to rise even further as Luke is left fuming that Jordan and Erica have gotten involved in his relationship.

Luke had already accused Jordan of interfering at the couple’s retreat and angrily told him to ‘shut up’ in one tense moment, and things look to get even worse.

The teaser clip showed a raging Luke storming up to Jordan and Erica’s front door and angrily slamming on it, leaving the couple inside the flat shocked.

Although it did not show the row, it teased a confrontation between the pair, which comes ahead of Luke being booted off the show after punching Jordan.

Kicked off: The tense scenes come ahead of Luke being booted off the Channel 4 show with immediate effect after punching Jordan

Married: The broadcaster, who has a zero tolerance against violence, had no option but to axe Luke, which also marked the end of his on-screen wife Jay Howard’s time on the E4 series

After a physical fight in scenes yet to air, Channel 4 bosses had to eject the Essex salesman with immediate effect after he shocked both cast and crew with his aggressive behaviour.

The broadcaster, who has a zero tolerance against violence, had no option but to axe Luke, which also marked the end of his on-screen wife Jay time on the E4 series.

The news was revealed exclusively by last week and Jordan has since taken to TikTok to address the incident.

He said: ‘There’s a lot to say, there’s a lot that goes down but you’re going to see all the drama unfold in front of your eyes over the next couple of weeks on your TV screens.

‘The time is not right to talk now, I don’t know who is leaking it to the press and I don’t know why they’re doing it, it’s got nothing to do with them.

‘So I do agree with Luke on that, even though we don’t agree on many things.

‘Whoever is doing it, just stop. Now, when the time is right I’ll be able to tell you everything that happened and why it happened – and what really went down.

‘Stay tuned, because there’s a lot to find out.’

Tensions have been rising between Luke and Jordan with the pair eventually coming to blows over their differences in shocking scenes that were caught on camera.

Jordan was allowed to stay on the show because Luke instigated the ruckus, which he later said he was ‘proud’ of despite it being a ‘controversial’ move.

A show insider told : ‘Luke and Jordan struggled to get along from the moment they met, but no one was expecting them to clash like they eventually did.

‘The cast attend a couples’ retreat and during dinner things got particularly heated between them and later they come to blows inside Jordan’s apartment.

‘Channel 4 bosses had no choice but eject Luke from the programme, which consequently ended his wife Jay’s time in the process… as per the show’s rules you enter as a couple and leave as a couple.

Speaking out: The news was revealed exclusively by last week and Jordan has since taken to TikTok to address the incident as the drama unfolds on screen

‘The fight was caught on camera, meaning there’s every chance it could be shown in the most explosive scenes ever to be aired on Married At First Sight UK.’

Luke and Jay married after meeting for the first time at the altar and quickly became close, bonding over their shared humour.

They were one of the show’s happiest couples with Luke, who quit his well-paid job to be on Married At First Sight.

Speaking at the show’s launch last month, Luke revealed: ‘I did some really controversial things in there, really, really controversial but I’m proud of doing them.

‘I had to quit my job to do the show, and I was on good money, so I had to put a lot in to do this.’
