Married At First Sight UK fans were left in hysterics during Wednesday’s reunion episode as they praised Arthur Poremba for showing up in an ‘anti-Chelsea’ outfit.
The tennis instructor, 34, from London had been married to Hampshire-dwelling but Chelsea obsessed Laura Vaughan, 37, on the show, with a long-running rift in the marriage being that Arthur did not carry himself like the affluent west London men she had previously dated.
After he was brutally dumped by Laura in the vow renewal, it appeared Arthur was well and truly over trying to mimic Arthur’s posh type and decided to attend the reunion dinner party in a vest and baggy jeans.
With the show experts watching on from a separate room, Mel Schilling mused: ‘Arthur didn’t get the dress code memo…’
It then cut to a visibly annoyed Laura saying: ‘Arthur looks like he’s come straight from the gym,’ adding sarcastically, ‘It’s nice to see he’s really put an effort in for seeing his ex-wife for the first time.’

Not impressed: Laura was always upset that Arthur did not carry himself like the affluent west London men she had previously dated
Undeterred by his ex-wife’s scowling expression, Arthur walked over to greet her and compliment her on how beautiful she looked, with the experts praising his politeness.
Taking to X, formally known as Twitter, fans shared: ‘lovin arthur’s will cosplay tonight #mafs2023’; ‘Arthur doesn’t give a s**t about anything and I secretly love it #MAFS’; ‘Arthur has literally picked the most anti-Chelsea outfit to deliberately rile Laura. And I’m here for that! #MAFSUK’; ‘The way I just HOWLED when Arthur walked in wearing his vest though #MAFS #MAFSUK #ArthurVest’
‘Arthur just dgaf. He’s turned up in a vest to a dinner party??!’; ‘Arthur is unintentionally the funniest person I’ve ever seen on MAFS #MAFSUK’; ‘Arthur is here to cause problems and problems ONLY’; ‘ I think we can all learn something from Arthur. Don’t take life too seriously, wear what’s comfortable, make stupid jokes, have a giggle. Life’s too short to be miserable #MAFSUK’.
Arthur’s unusual clothing choice comes after he was on the receiving end of an ‘unnecessarily cruel’ speech by Laura at the vow renewal.
In the previous scenes three of the couples, Laura and Arthur, Jordan and Erica, and Peggy and Georges, headed back to their separate homes, where they had five days to think about their decision.
After considering their futures together, they were reunited at a second ceremony in which they read out their vows and decided whether to stay together or leave the experiment.
Speaking before their renewals Arthur said: ‘I’m holding on to the fact that we are in such a happy place at times.’
He added: ‘I feel strong about Laura and I and I want to fight for her.’

Back at her home, Laura caught up with one of her friends, who had already made her disapproval of Arthur clear in a previous heated exchange.
She questioned: ‘What if I leave now but we are on the cusp of something good. How do you know when to end a marriage?’
At his home Arthur shared his fears: ‘We’ve have got something good going and I do think that we can make it work but Laura’s friends can change her mind.’
Yet it seems that the tennis coach was right to doubt his bride when at the ceremony, Laura said: ‘The more I grow as a person the more I grow a part from you.
Brutally, she added: ‘I’ve always been a fixer but I’ve realised this relationship can’t be fixed. You are perfect for someone but it won’t be me.’
Speaking to the camera afterwards, Laura admitted ‘Arthur’s vows made it quite difficult for me but I am moving forward with a lot more confidence. I will miss Arthur, but the ring is off.’
Arthur was left visibly shaken by Laura’s words as he teared up while discussing their vows with a producer.
‘That made me feel like c***. Ultimately, I would have tried to make things work on the outside and I am really gutted that she didn’t feel the same way,’ he said.
Speaking through tears to a producer off camera, Arthur added: ‘I don’t really know what else to say right now, sorry.’
