She failed to find love on the 2019 season of Love Island , following a brief romance with Tammy Hembrow’s now-husband Matthew Zukowski.
But this week, Cartier Surjan, 24, proudly announced she is expecting her first child with NRL star Jake Simpkin.
Cartier, who shot to fame as the beautiful ‘born-again Christian’ on Nine’s match-making show, and the Manly Sea Eagles player, 23, have been in a relationship for four years.
Posing together on a beach, the expecting parents shared a kiss as they announced the happy news with Cartier’s 213,000 followers.
Cartier unzipped her black mom jeans and let her bump hang out, nuzzling her face into Jake’s neck, while the dad-to-be cradled her belly.
‘We are so excited to meet you,’ she captioned the carousel of photos, which also included the baby’s first ultrasound.

On Monday, Cartier flaunted her growing baby bump in a pair of blue pyjama pants and a red singlet that no longer fits her midriff.
‘Hi baby, can’t believe I don’t have to hide you anymore,’ she captioned the short clip of herself admiring her pregnant belly.
‘So overwhelmed by the love of you guys! It’s a new venture for me. Would love any advice, products recommendations, any questions you have for me, comment below and I’ll do a video going through them.’
‘Finding clothes that fit and that I feel comfortable in is actually so difficult,’ she added in another post to her Stories.
‘I commend every single woman who does pregnancy with such fashion.’
Cartier’s Love Island co-star Anna McEvoy, who is also currently expecting her first child, rushed to the comments section to congratulate her.
‘You look absolutely gorgeous!!!’ she wrote with a love-heart eyes emoji.
Cartier was runner-up on the second season of Love Island, being paired with male model Matt.

All the couples were beaten out by Anna and Josh Packham, who took home the whopping $50,000 prize money.
Although Cartier and Jake have spent four years together, the reality star told Daily Mail she had found ‘her forever man’ after just five months.
‘We first met at [Sydney’s] Clovelly Beach. I wasn’t meant to be at that beach that day, but it ended up being the easiest to get to as the traffic was awful,’ she recalled of their first meeting.
‘I spotted Jake nearby in a blue hat, and we got talking – the rest is history. We have been together for five months now.’
Although it wasn’t quite love at first sight.
Cartier recalled how she almost bailed on her first date with Jake, but when the pair did catch up they didn’t want to leave each other’s side.
‘So funny… we both told our roomies we’d be back in 2 hours max… nek mini 6 hours later, both our roomies were texting us seeing if we were okay,’ she explained in an Instagram Q&A.
Jake had debuted their relationship on while on holiday in Nelson Bay, New South Wales, in March 2021.

Cartier was coupled up with Adam Farrugia, 27, on Love Island, who she dated for four weeks. In that time, the two developed a strong connection.
It ran its course however, and the two decided to be friends. Cartier then moved on with co-star Matthew Zukowski.
Cartier and Matt called it quits just two weeks after the finale episode, following an explosive public row at the 2020 Melbourne Cup.
