A woman had her car stolen in broad daylight by a man pretending to be a tow truck driver.
Mako Shanks had parked her car outside the Grand Plaza shopping centre, in Browns Plains, Logan, south of Brisbane, on Tuesday only to discover it missing when she walked out an hour later.
While she was inside the shops, a truck driver had hooked her bronze-coloured Holden Commodore sedan to the back of his unregistered and unmarked truck and simply drove away with it.
A passer-by noticed something was wrong and filmed the Commodore being dragged away.
The Commodore’s front bumper was ripped off when the truck swerved and sent the car crashing into a power pole.
Ms Shanks blasted the thief, with her car still missing.
‘Get a f***ing job. You’re nothing but a low life,’ she told Seven News.
‘It’s heartbreaking because you go to work, sweat your guts out, work for what you got, and some low life takes it.’
Ms Shanks has filed a police report but her car is yet to be found.
It was last seen on Chambers Flat Road in Browns Plains.
Queensland Police said investigations are continuing.
