Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis continued to tease the sequel to their 2003 Disney film Freaky Friday this week.

Curtis, 65, reshared a snap of Lohan, 37 21 years after the pair played the body swapping mother-daughter duo in the 2003 film

The post was accompanied by a song from the original film playing in the background.

Curtis wore a black tee and glasses with a silver necklace as she sported her signature short hair.

The 37-year-old actress wore a white blouse and opted for light makeup as her strawberry blonde hair cascaded over her shoulders.

Referring to the sequel, the mother-of-three captioned the first post, ‘DUH! FFDEUX! @disney @disney studios.’

On the second post, she captioned the photo with a single green checkmark emoji, indicating that the film is in production.

Fans went wild in the comments as one penned, ‘I can’t tell you how many times my daughter and I watched this movie when she was little. Both women do such an amazing job at their roles.’

When asked about the sequel earlier this month, Lohan said, ‘I’m just excited to work with Jamie again and see how much further we can take it,’ she noted after confirming the sequel is indeed a go.

The New York native told People magazine this week that she thinks it will be a lot of ‘fun.’

‘Because we talk almost every other day in general, so I think we’re going to have a lot of fun with this,’ she added.

On Friday, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Nisha Ganatra is set to take on the role of directing the film.

The Golden Globe winner and Emmy nominee has famously worked on The Cheetah Girls: One World, Pete’s Christmas, and The High Note.

The Parent Trap star also spoke about the Freaky Friday 2 project on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live show a couple weeks back.

‘It’s happening… We’re both excited,’ said the former wild child of Hollywood.

However, she insisted: ‘I don’t want to say too much.’

The script is reportedly being handled by rising screenwriter Elyse Hollander.

Last year, while attending a celebration for the 20th anniversary of the original Freaky Friday, Lohan and Curtis both spoke about reuniting for a potential Freaky Friday 2 follow-up as the star admitted she was leading the charge for the sequel.

Disney confirmed that the project was in development at that same event.

Curtis told the New York Times: ‘As I went around the world with Halloween Ends, people wanted to know if there was going to be another Freaky Friday.’

‘Something really touched a chord. When I came back, I called my friends at Disney and said, “It feels like there’s a movie to be made.”‘

Curtis and Lohan portrayed a mother- teenage daughter duo who magically switch bodies in the 2003 adaptation of Mary Rodgers’ 1972 Freaky Friday novel.
