Lily James showed that diamonds really are a girl’s best friend as she attended the Natural Diamond Council’s event on Wednesday at Canada House in London.
The actress, 35, serves as a global ambassador for the council and put on a typically chic display at the Diamonds, A Canadian Love Story exhibition.
She displayed her svelte figure in an elegant black-and-white houndstooth blazer-style dress, adding a leather belt to cinch her in at her tiny waist.
Lily wore her blonde hair in perfectly styled waves and sported a radiant palette of make-up as she took in all the dazzling gems on display.
The Mamma Mia star tried on several breathtaking diamond pieces while chatting to the experts and assorted guests.
Speaking to the Mail’s Richard Eden, she said she believed women in the public eye should make more effort to find out whether their gems are sourced ethically.

Lily insisted: ‘It’s our responsibility to see how [jewellery] businesses our impacting the communities and the eco-systems around it’.
The Downton Abbey star recently travelled to Canada to hear first-hand how natural diamonds have affected the Northwest Territories positively.
Whilst there, she posed for a freezing cold photoshoot and admitted: ‘I lay on the ice for a very long time because I would do anything for a good shot.
‘We couldn’t really stay out for more than three minutes because I would have got frostbite.’
However, Lily revealed the life-changing trip was tinged with sadness, as she got to fulfil one of her late grandmother Marinette’s biggest dreams.
She explained: ‘My granny always wanted to see the Northern Lights and sadly never made it. I felt like this feminine ancestral kind of power as I stood there looking at the Northern lights, thinking of my grandma.
‘It’s no surprise to me that the oldest diamonds in the world come from this land. It took my breath away.’
It comes after Lily’s mystery man was revealed to be Christopher Jones, after the pair were seen leaving a restaurant together in Paris earlier this month.

The Cinderella was spotted grabbing a bite to eat with the brother of her close friend Emma Holly Jones, while in the French capital for Paris Fashion Week.
Just one day earlier, Lily was spotted exiting an eatery in Paris with Christopher following close behind.
The pair followed each other’s Instagram accounts and Lily has often appeared on Emma’s own page, but it is not known if the star and Christopher have struck up a romance or are only pals.
While it is not clear what Christopher does for work, he often shares pictures from his active lifestyle, such as him golfing, skydiving or bike riding.
Lily was last romantically linked to musician Michael Shuman, after they were spotted kissing outside a boutique hotel in England while she filmed What’s Love Got To Do With It in February 2021.
A year later they confirmed their relationship when they attended the Oscars together, while at the time Michael had reportedly moved into Lily’s multi-million-dollar home in North London.
A month later the two were pictured hand-in-hand while visiting Michael’s parents, former Disney production manager Ira Shuman and wife Janet, in Los Angeles.
