Liam’s apparent confirmation of he and John’s appearance came just before the release of the pair’s collaborative album, Liam Gallagher John Squire, which drops on March 1.
It sees two heavyweights of the Britpop era – with John renowned for his role as guitarist with The Stone Roses – join forces on a new LP.
Their potential slot together on The Pyramid Stage follows a feud between Liam and his brother Noel that has lasted for years – ever since Oasis disbanded in 2009.
In December, The Mail On Sunday exclusively revealed that the pair were ‘closer than they have been for years’ after Noel’s split from publicist Sara MacDonald.
Sources who know the siblings say that the split had an ‘instant impact’ on relations between Liam and Noel.
Noel, 56, agreed a divorce settlement the previous month, ending a 22-year marriage that contributed to a vicious and often public rift with Liam.
Although the pair have embarked on their own projects, with Liam enjoying a successful solo career and Noel forming the High Flying Birds, fans have long pined for the brothers to put aside their differences.
The long-running rift is yet to be resolved, with Liam responding to Noel in scathing fashion after the latter labelled him a ‘coward’ in a talkSPORT interview in May.
A furious Liam took to X, formerly, Twitter to respond to his claims, saying: ‘I don’t wish AIDS on people I turn up and play the MUSIC for the people of MANCHESTER who have just had a terror attack while you sit on your dingy sipping champagne and you got the audacity to call me a COWARD sit down you b***end.’
Liam was referring to a 1995 interview where Noel said he hoped charts rival Damian Albarn from Blur would ‘catch Aids and die’.

While the news of Liam’s possible set with John not quite the announcement some fans would have been hoping for, they were still thrilled to hear that he declared himself to be on the bill at Glastonbury.
Reacting to Liam’s reply on X, fans of the singer were quick to hype up the prospect of he and John performing together at Worthy Farm this summer.
In reply to Liam, Mr Russell wrote: ‘C’maaaannnnn!!!!!!’
A response from another shocked user read: ‘Omg reeeeeaaaallyy?!’
A fellow fan hoped the revelation would come to fruition, as they replied: ‘Hope so!’
A fourth added: ‘Get in’.
Liam’s surprise post comes after The Mail on Sunday exclusively revealed in November that Madonna, Dua Lipa and Coldplay are among the frontrunners to headline Glastonbury in 2024.
After months of discussion, the three iconic singers are reportedly set to appear on the Pyramid Stage, though the official line-up is yet to be revealed.

One festival insider said: ‘It’s the dream line-up, a brilliant mix of different music and different atmospheres. Then, of course, you have Madonna on the final night, which will be epic.’
The usual eagle-eyed detective work from fans has also seen Ed Sheeran emerge as a possible headliner at Worthy Farm.
Posting on X, fan account Glastopia reposted a picture of Ed Sheeran’s Mathematics tour dates across Europe and Asia, captioned: ‘I spy a big gap in June’.
However, when it comes to releasing the line-up, Glastonbury’s organisers are notoriously good at keeping an expectant crowd in the dark over who might appear at Worthy Farm.
