Levi Roots has broken his social media silence after he was evicted from the Big Brother house on Friday.

Last week, the 65-year-old entrepreneur became the third housemate to be voted out by the public, swiftly followed on by Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu.

After being reunited with his family and returning to his home in Northamptonshire, the father-of-eight took to his music Instagram page to give fans an update and reveal the ‘game plan’ he had in the house.

Levi shared:  ‘It’s been an amazing self-discovery two weeks within the Big Brother house. First, I wanted to say thank you to everybody.

‘Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the support and thank you to everybody who allowed me to be myself, allowed me to be the authentic Levi Roots, who I am.’

He continued: ‘It was an absolutely amazing journey. I went in because I wanted to discover myself all over again in a different way.

‘It’s been a long time since I came on the scene, ever since Dragons’ Den 17 years ago, so I really wanted to connect with these young people who perhaps weren’t even born when I joined Dragons’ Den in 2007.

‘I made so much of an impact on young people with my music, with the food and the sauce.

‘I wanted to go back into a situation where they can see me in a different light and perhaps I’m not shown on social media or on TV.

‘Because in the house you have to be the authentic you or at least I was anyway.’

‘I never expected to last that long in the house but I did and it’s all because I tried to be myself at all times.

‘That was my game plan, It wasn’t to pretend to be anyone else but Levi Roots.

‘I’m so grateful for the messages I have seen and to be home with my family. The key message to everyone else is to always be yourself.’

While Levi was happy to update his fans on his life outside the house, Ekin-Su has maintained radio silence since her bizarre Late and Live interview.

On Monday, she threw ITV’s Lorraine into chaos when she inexplicably cancelled an appearance on the show last minute.

The reality veteran, 29, who won Love Island in 2020, was ejected from CBB on Friday night, after which she caused a social media storm by insisting she was badly-edited on the show without a true depiction of her behaviour.

As Lorraine Kelly teased her upcoming show on Good Morning Britain, she told host Susanna Reid that Ekin-Su’s planned appearance was cancelled under mysterious circumstances – leading to a snide dig from Susanna.

Lorraine, 64, said: ‘She was due to come in but no. We’re trying to find out. She was not happy, sometimes you think it’s put on but she was genuinely not pleased at all.’

Susanna subsequently made an apparent reference to Ekin-Su’s proclamations, saying: ‘This is why I like live TV because then you know what’s actually happened and there’s no blaming the edits’, to which Lorraine said: ‘Yes live is a lot better.’

Ekin-Su’s withdrawal comes after her Late And Live descended into chaos on Friday as she clashed with Layton Williams after her eviction from the house.

She attempted to ‘blame the edit’ for her unfair portrayal on the show but Layton, also 29, was having none of it and told her she was dragging out the explosive argument with Marisha Wallace during Thursday’s episode.

While some branded the former Strictly star a ‘bully’ and said that he did to Ekin-Su what others did to him during his time on the dancing show, others disagreed and dubbed him the ‘voice of the people’.

She broke down in hysterical tears after Marisha picked her in the face-face nominations before storming off to her bed as the musical star, 38, followed to apologise.

Speaking about the dramatic performance, which saw Ekin-Su branding the theatre star as ‘fake’, Layton shot back at the reality star as he revealed his full support for Marisha in the confrontation.

Ekin exclaimed: ‘When Marisha nominated me that actually showed me her true colours, that she had been thinking about winning the game the whole time.’

Host AJ Odudu attempted to reason with the star as she suggested: ‘Well what we have got to remember, you know she’s American it’s strategy, game playing.’

But Layton was quick to intervene as he explained: ‘Marisha had to pick someone basically and she did pick you, just like you picked Louis.

‘Louis squashed it you know and kind of kept it moving and unfortunately you dragged it on and I kind of did feel for Marisha in that moment.

‘I was like, you know what this is her big day, she had just been told she had been nominated for an Olivier Award and to see her crying in the Big Brother…’ as Ekin-Su interrupted: ‘You haven’t seen everything they have cut stuff out but ok.’

Yet Layton was having none of it, as he hit back: ‘Don’t blame it on the edit, one thing we are not going to do is blame it on the edit.

‘We’re not blaming it on the edit girl. We see what we see and it was just a shame, it was a big shame.’

As host Will Best opened it up to the audience to try and garner some support for Ekin-Su, he struggled to find an audience member that was on her side.
