Congresswoman Lauren Boebert’s 18-year-old son Tyler was released from jail on Wednesday after being arrested for allegedly breaking into cars and using stolen credit cards, among 22 charges.

Boebert was taken into custody around 2:30pm on Tuesday, according to police in the town of Rifle, Colorado, which is part of the district his mother still represents in Congress.

The Republican lawmaker’s son is facing nearly two dozen different charges, including four counts of criminal possession of a financial device, three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and three counts of theft of under $300.

The other charges range from four felony counts of criminal possession of an ID, a felony count of conspiracy to commit a felony and more than 15 different misdemeanor and petty charges. One of the alleged victims was said to be as young as three years old.

Representative Boebert, in a statement to DailyMail.com, said that her son should face consequences but she ultimately loves and supports him.

‘I love my son Tyler, who has been through some very difficult, public challenges for a young man and the subject of attention that he didn’t ask for,’ she said.

She added that her son was an ‘adult and father’ and should be ‘held accountable’ just like anyone else.

‘It breaks my heart to see my child struggling and, in this situation, especially when he has been provided multiple opportunities to get his life on track. I will never give up on him and I will continue to be there for him,’ she added.

An arrest affidavit claims Boebert was identified after he was recognized on surveillance video at a gas station on February 20 by a police officer in Rifle investigating a series of vehicle break-ins and thefts.

The video shows Boebert in a Shooters Bar and Grill hoodie – the restaurant formerly owned by his mother – while three accomplices, all underage, allegedly use a stolen credit card to get food.

Tyler Boebert was released from Garfield County after posting $1,250 bond on Wednesday after he was arrested alongside three accomplices.

The other three – a 16-year-old male, a 16-year-old female, and a 17-year-old female – weren’t identified because they are all underage, resulting in the charges of corrupting minors.

Six victims are named in an incident summary, though their identities are also redacted, with the youngest just three years old. The remainder are between the ages of 18 and 32.

He’s accused of breaking in and stealing from four vehicles, taking cash, gift cards, a social security card and credit cards, as well as driver’s licenses.

They allegedly used the cash to buy gas and food from a McDonald’s and a Kum and Go in Rifle, though banks eventually started declining the charges.

They tried to order $717 worth of merchandise from Shein.com, $175 at Kum and Go and $10.95 from a Starbucks.

Boebert told the police he was in his Ford F-250 with friends when one of the thefts happened. That vehicle matched the one seen on surveillance, according to the Denver Post.

Tyler appeared virtually in a Garfield County court Wednesday from jail and was smiling and laughing as the hearing began, which Deputy District Attorney Tony Hershey said his Congresswoman mother listened in on.

Magistrate Jill McConaughy assigned him a personal recognizance bond of $1,250.

Hershey called his ‘activity and behavior’ concerning and noted that Boebert failed to appear in court on a traffic case last year.

Boebert’s next court date was set for April 11.

Local police cited the recent series of vehicle trespasses and property theft in the town and the Rifle Police Department posted on its Facebook page on Tuesday evening that the investigation is ongoing.

Rep. Boebert still represents Colorado’s 3rd congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives, but announced earlier this year that she was moving her campaign to the state’s 4th district.

The lawmaker was facing a tough rematch with Democrat Adam Frisch, but also said the move is to give her family a ‘fresh start’ after a ‘pretty difficult year.’

The arrest Tuesday isn’t the first time the teenage Boebert – who shares a son with an ex-girlfriend –  has had a run-in with controversy.

In April of last year, a friend alleged that an accident, in which Tyler was driving, left him with multiple concussions and a debilitating hand injury.

Noble D’Amato, 19, accused the political family of covering it up.

Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com Wednesday, Tyler’s father Jayson Boebert, 42, gave a raw and heartfelt response to the news of his latest arrest that broke Wednesday morning.

He acknowledged that, at times, he may have failed as a father but said that he is committed to always improving. He expressed his ‘unwavering’ belief in all his children – and he shared his faith in Tyler’s future.

He said, ‘I know my son is a good-hearted child and still has his whole life ahead of him.’

On Wednesday, Jayson focused on his family, saying, ‘My love for my children is unconditional and I vow to stand by them unwaveringly through all of life’s challenges.

‘Ensuring that I am there for my children regardless of the circumstances is a value I hold dear as a parent.’

For his part, Jayson said, ‘I hope to continuously evolve and refine my parenting skills. I have made a commitment to provide the best possible support and guidance to my children.

‘Even though I may feel like I have failed at times, I will continue to keep improving.’

Lauren, 37, and Jayson welcomed their first grandchild with the birth of Tyler’s child with his girlfriend last April.

The very same month the congresswoman filed for divorce and the couple’s 16-year marriage officially ended with a final court hearing last September.

At the time, Jayson spoke of his own sense of failure, standing up for his ex-wife in the face of public criticism and blaming himself in a Facebook post in which he claimed that he was the ‘root’ of the split that he described as ‘devastating.’

Now, Jayson has exclusively told DailyMail.com how, in the months since the split, he has channeled his energies into being the best father he can to the couple’s four sons – Tyler, Brody, 17, Kaydon, 13 and Roman, 10.

He does not, he admitted, always get it right.

Jayson said, ‘Being a father in today’s challenging world can be a heavy task. With the constant bombardment of information and influences from all angles, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and uncertain about the best way to guide your children.’

He pointed to the ‘challenges’ of the past few years that the country has faced, such as Covid shutdowns that saw raised levels of depression in young people.

He said, ‘Despite our best efforts we will fall short sometimes.’

Boebert’s job as a consultant for an energy firm takes him away from the family home for weeks at a time.

According to Jayson, ‘as a parent balancing work, family and personal life while striving to be a good role model for your kids can be incredibly demanding.’

Meanwhile Lauren faced public humiliation when surveillance footage emerged of and a then-romantic prospect, Aspen bar-owner Quinn Gallagher, 46, behaving in a way that saw them both thrown out of a theater in Denver.

‘Moreover, the spotlight of today’s media can magnify and distort even the smallest aspects of your life.’

Both Jayson and Lauren have found themselves at the heart of media storms in the past six months.

In January, Jayson was charged with two counts of assault following an altercation with his ex-wife in a restaurant in their hometown of Rifle which saw him call police and an incident with Tyler that spiraled out of control.

At one point, Lauren had her hand in Gallagher’s lap while he fondled her breasts. At other times the pair were talking loudly and singing along to the production of Beetlejuice despite other patrons’ repeated requests for them to keep it down.

It is, according to Jayson, impossible for any family to remain impervious to the maelstrom of publicity in which his must so often function.

He said, ‘It’s disheartening to see your actions or words misrepresented and sensationalized, painting a false picture for the public. These distortions do not only create tension within your family but also affect your reputation and relationships outside of the home.’

There is, he admitted, no road map but, he said, ‘As a father navigating this complex landscape it is crucial to stay true to your values, communicate openly with your loved ones and remember that perfection is unattainable.’

For Jayson, no matter what challenges lie ahead, ‘striving for honest and genuine connections with your children and keeping them on the right path despite the challenges and external pressures, is what truly matters in the end.’
