Kylie Minogue looks on cloud nine on Thursday as she frolicked around by the ocean with her friends.

The n pop icon, 55, took to her Instagram to share a slew of snaps from a sun-soaked trip, posing on a wooden deck.

She was snapped in a fit of laughter as her male pal lifted her up into the air, displaying her tiny 5 foot frame.

The Padam Padam singer kicked her toned legs out behind her as she was swept up into her shirtless friend’s arms.

Kylie was wrapped up in a floral dress, while she hid her face under a khaki bucket hat and sunglasses.

Her playful pictures come after it was reported that the Can’t Get You Out of My Head hitmaker is to perform at the upcoming BRIT Awards.

Kylie has not taken to the stage at the awards show in 16 years, last performing her hit Wow at the bash in 2008.

Kylie and her team are said to be making plans for how she can make a big impact with her performance at London’s O2 Arena in March.

A source told The Sun: ‘Kylie fans should have their gold hotpants at the ready for the Brits.

‘She is being lined up for a huge performance at the show. It would be a huge coup for the organisers to have Kylie back on stage where she belongs, and they know her fans will go mad for it.

‘It’s likely Kylie would perform a bit of a mashup of some of her biggest hits, including Padam Padam, which was huge for her last year.

‘The offer is in and the negotiations are happening right now. Watch this space.’

The nominations shortlist is due to be announced very soon, and is eagerly anticipated after no female singers were named on the 2023 nominee shortlist in the Best Artist category.

The 2024 BRIT Awards will see some major changes to their categories in response to the backlash of creating gender neutral gongs in 2022.

Last year, ceremony organisers came under scrutiny after female musicians – including Charlie XCX and Florence And The Machine – were snubbed from Artist Of The Year, which Harry Styles went on to win.

After the furore, an extensive review took place, and the category has been expanded from five nominations to 10. This will also apply to International Artist Of The Year.

Other changes for the award show, set to take place on Saturday, March 2, are a new standalone category for R&B. It was previously Pop/R&B.

A source told The Sun: ‘The BRITs’ decision to create genderless categories was huge and they’ve now tweaked it again to try to make it more inclusive.

‘The move to go genderless was meant to be progressive, and by making this change they are hoping that it reflects this.’

Music industry chiefs faced a backlash when they scrapped the two categories in a bid to be inclusive and relevant after non-binary musicians including Sam Smith, who identifies as neither male nor female, said they felt excluded.

The first gender-neutral award was handed to Adele in 2022, but in her acceptance speech she pointedly told the audience: ‘I love being a woman.’

It is understood she also voiced her dismay after when this year’s shortlist was revealed to contain only men.

When former One Direction star Harry accepted the Artist Of The Year award, he dedicated it to several female artists who weren’t nominated.

He said: ‘I’m aware of my privilege up here tonight so this award is for Reyna, Florence [Welch], Mabel and Becky [Hill].’

The changes came after singer Sam – who identifies as non-binary – put organisers under pressure to scrap male and female categories earlier this year.

The three-time winner said previously: ‘Music for me has always been about unification not division.

‘I look forward to a time where awards shows can be reflective of the society we live in.’
