Kyle Sandilands has lashed out at rival radio shows, branding them as ‘phoney’ with colleagues who ‘can’t stand each other’.
The KIIS FM radio host, 51, took aim at other competitors across the country and claimed plenty of teams don’t get along.
On Thursday morning’s Kyle & Jackie O Show, the shock jock shared some insider knowledge from the radio world while two kids doing work experience currently sit in the studio for the week.
When learning that the work experience students have dreams of working in radio, Kyle was quick to explained why The Kyle & Jackie O Show is different to other radio shows, particularly behind the scenes.
‘Well, just so you know, all the other shows, there’s no fun there,’ he explained.

Kyle added that there is a lot of jealousy and fighting between other radio hosts, before reassuring his team about his off-radio friendship with co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson.
‘Some of the other shows, they actually sound like they like each other. I won’t point out which ones, but they actually can’t stand each other.
‘I would never be able to do this job if I actually didn’t like Jackie. Do I question what she says and thinks? Yes, often. But I love her, and I respect what she says, even though I think she’s a psychopath loon sometimes, I still respect that.
‘But other shows, they don’t even like each other. They’re jealous. There’s fighting. It’s all phoney.’
While Kyle didn’t name any radio stars in particular, there have been several rumoured radio feuds between rival networks like Nova FM,
Last year, Tim Blackwell appeared to confirm rumours that he and his former co-host Kate Ritchie had a rift.
The broadcaster made a snarky comment when asked about her departure from the drive time show on the Shock Jocks podcast.
When asked what prompted Kate’s exit, Tim responded: ‘That’s a question for her, I know nothing.’

He continued: ‘She’s a bit of a control freak, she knows what she wants, she’s very vocal, very powerful, she’s got her own ideas, that’s why we love her so much.’
Meanwhile, Kyle’s manager and the creative director of his radio show Bruno Bouchet said in 2020 that the n industry was ‘littered with hosts that hate working with one another’.
He alleged that one of Sydney’s most iconic duos, Merrick Watts and Tim Ross, didn’t even get along.
Merrick and Rosso began their careers on Triple J and became the so-called ‘kings of breakfast radio’ after moving to Nova 96.9 in 2001.
In 2009, they parted ways and Watts said: ‘This has nothing to do with Rosso and I not liking each other. No fights, there’s no carry-on, there’s nothing like that.’
But Bruno suggested otherwise, claiming they did not see eye to eye towards the end of their on-air partnership.
However, Tim doubled down and dismissed any rumours of a feud between the pair.
Speaking on the Mumbrella podcast last month, Tim described Merrick as a ‘brother’ and said the former partners share a ‘bond’.
‘Merrick and I, the way I describe it, we’re like brothers, you know? No one else understands what happened at that time,’ he said.
Fifi Box and Marty Sheargold also disliked working together as co-hosts of Triple M’s The Shebang from 2003 to 2008, Mr Bouchet claimed.

‘When they did a show together, they used to sit back to back so they wouldn’t have to look at one another,’ he alleged.
In 2010, Marty left the network to join Nova, and by 2011 was one third of the Meshel, Tim & Marty show (which became Kat, Tim & Marty in 2014. He left the network in 2020.
In July this year, he announced he was leaving Nova after 10 years with the network.
Meanwhile, Fifi currently hosts Fifi, Fev and Byron on Melbourne’s Fox FM.
Bruno also claimed there had been a feud between former 2Day FM breakfast hosts Em Rusciano and Harley Breen in 2017.

Not on friendly terms: Former radio hosts Peter Moon (left) and Wendy Harmer (right) also hated each other despite a long-running partnership, Mr Bouchet said
‘Apparently those two hated each other,’ he said.
The duo worked together for about a year, but things reportedly became so strained between them that they didn’t speak to each other off air for a week-long period.
When contacted by Daily Mail at the time, Harley’s representative denied Bruno’s claims.
Former radio hosts Peter Moon and Wendy Harmer also loathed each other despite a long-running partnership, Bruno said.
The duo co-hosted the 2Day FM breakfast show for eight years, from 1995 to 2002.
Confirming the rumours were indeed true, Harmer told Daily Mail : ‘The feud wasn’t a secret; it was on air every day!’
