Kyle Sandilands’ chauffeur says his right hip is ‘totally gone’ after a horror crash with a $1million Tiffany blue Rolls-Royce SUV at the weekend.

George Plassaras, 52, was driving his Mercedes van when it collided head-on with the Rolls-Royce at Rose Bay in Sydney’s eastern suburbs at 3.30am on Saturday.

LanLan Yang, 23, was allegedly drunk behind the wheel of the luxury SUV at the time of the crash, which has now left Plassaras with life-changing injuries.

The chauffeur to the stars has suffered a broken spine, broken ribs, a ruptured spleen and diaphragm, a torn open abdomen, two broken hips and two broken femurs.

He was cut out of his van’s wreckage by emergency services and rushed to a hospital where doctors put him in an induced coma as surgeons battled to save him.

Plassaras has now been brought out of his coma and revealed he faces a long road to recovery from his serious injuries, which have shattered his hip beyond repair.

‘I’ve got no right hip. It’s totally gone,’ Plassaras told Wednesday’s Kyle & Jackie O Show from his hospital bed in intensive care.

Plassaras told the show he will need extensive further hip surgery which will stop him working for weeks, and possibly months.

He will also have to undergo a second operation on his knee.

Doctors have so far been unable to assess the full damage to his spine until the operations on his hip are complete, Plassaras said.

‘I’ve basically got no hip. After the operation, I can’t legally drive for six weeks,’ he added.

‘After the hip (surgery), I’ve got to do my right knee, they’ve got to check my X-ray for my spine, once I do my hip.

‘There’s a long list of injuries.’

Sandilands and Henderson pressed Plassaras for more details of the accident, but the explicit details had to be censored because of the upcoming court proceedings.

After viewing CCTV footage of the collision, NSW Police allege Yang veered onto the wrong side of the road.

Plassaras, who runs Dakota Limousines, was trapped in the wreckage while bystanders called triple zero.

He could be heard yelling for help inside the crushed Mercedes van, as emergency crews from NSW Police Rescue and Fire and Rescue NSW worked to free him.

Yang carried out a roadside breath test immediately after the crash, which returned a positive result, and she was arrested at the scene.

At Waverley Police Station, she allegedly refused to undergo a breath analysis.

She has been charged with causing bodily harm by misconduct, being in charge of a motor vehicle, and refusing or failing to submit to breath analysis.

She was granted conditional bail and ordered to surrender her passport and is scheduled to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on August 15.

Plassaras joked he was more concerned about how the incident would affect his employer.

‘The Police Rescue were laughing because I’m like, “I’ve got to check my phone to see when I’m driving Kyle again”,’ he said.

‘You can’t buy that loyalty!’ Sandilands replied.

Plassaras also said he was looking forward to a visit in hospital from Sandilands – his friend for the past decade – but so far he had only sent his manager to see him.

‘You sent Bruno (Bouchet, Kyle’s manager),’ he said on air. ‘I thought there was a chance you were going to come.’

It comes after Sandilands’ manager provided an update on the radio star’s driver on Tuesday.

Bouchet told Daily Mail that Plassaras woke up from a coma on Sunday night and only recalls ‘pulling out of his street and then being cut out of his van’ by a heroic rescue team.

‘Despite his condition, he still has a great sense of humour and was making jokes about how badly his friend’s NRL team was going this season,’ he added.
