The Princess of Wales appeared in high spirits this morning as she visited an organisation that supports fathers in north London.

Kate, 41, looked chic in a £725 Erdem ‘Lotus’ Striped Cashmere Sweater, which she has worn on several occasions, as she met dads and young children.

Dressing for the rainy weather, the mother of three paired the look with dark blue jeans, another reworn £200 khaki Barbour jacket and Blundstone Chelsea boots.

The Dadvengers group, founded in 2020, aims to provide the same support offered to mothers and focuses particularly on mental health.

The visit was part of her ongoing Shaping Us project, which focuses on the importance of early childhood years.

The organisation offers online training programmes, podcasts and ‘Dad Walks’ to help new parents feel more equipped for parenthood.

The Princess of Wales took part in one of the group’s ‘Dad Walks’ in Arnos Grove today, where she displayed her natural ease with children.

At one point, the royal was seen kneeling down to hold one youngster’s hand and enjoying a laugh with a father holding his two children in either arm.

The Princess was joined on her visit by DJ and songwriter, Jax Jones, who is one of the Shaping Us campaign champions.

Nigel Clarke, the founder of Dadvengers, said: ‘Fathers have a hugely significant role to play in their children’s lives, right from the start.

‘Even before their baby is born, fathers can get involved and Dadvengers is on a mission to support them to do that in ways that work for them.

‘We provide them with information and advice to help look after their own wellbeing, while also supporting them to build the nurturing relationships and surroundings we know are so important in the very earliest years of their children’s lives.

‘It’s what Dadvengers is all about.’

Kate has previously described the Shaping Us initiative as her ‘life’s work’.

At a launch event in January, the royal said: ‘The campaign is fundamentally about shining a spotlight on the critical importance of early childhood and how it shapes the adults we become.

‘During this time we lay the foundations and building blocks for life. And it is when we learn to understand ourselves, understand others and understand the world in which we live.

‘This is why it is essential, to not only understand the unique importance of our earliest years, but to know what we can all do to help raise future generations of happy, healthy adults.’

The initiative is a long-term project of the Princess’s, beginning with how a child develops and the importance of the formative years.

It will ‘explore in more depth the importance of a child’s social and emotional world’ and the significance of relationships, ‘surroundings and experiences’.

‘And of course, by understanding our own childhoods – what has shaped our own beliefs, relationships, behaviours and feelings – we, as adults, are better placed to play our part in positively shaping future generations,’ Kate added.

Today’s engagement sheds light on a cause which is no doubt close to Kate’s heart – as her younger brother James Middleton announced he welcomed his first children with wife Alizee Thevenet last week.

The entrepreneur, 36, and French financier, 33, were spotted going for a walk with the newborn in Notting Hill on Tuesday.

The baby, whose gender has not been revealed, is the first cousin of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis and the niece or nephew of Kate and William.

The parents have kept the exact details and date of the baby’s birth private.

It’s believed he or she was born in recent weeks as James shared a snap of his then-pregnant wife on September 12th to celebrate their anniversary and declare: ‘The best is yet to come.’

Already a doting dad, James fit right in with the west London set as he pushed a £795 Silver Cross pram while wearing an autumnal ensemble of navy chinos, brown boots and a green jacket.

He added a yellow scarf to brighten up the look, while Alizee proved she was a cool mum in a double denim look with a blue shirt and jeans which she paired with a 1970s-inspired brown suede coat and fur gilet.
