Kamala Harris has been caught in an embarrassing Election Day gaffe after flipping her cell around to the cameras while ‘on the phone with a voter’ – to reveal she was seemingly not on a call at all.

‘Have you voted already?’ a beaming Harris said on the phone. She paused as though listening, before exclaiming: ‘You did, thank you!’

The Vice President then turned her phone screen around to adoring supporters at the Democrat party’s Washington DC headquarters, who applauded and cheered.

But viewers at home were lightening quick to point out that her phone appeared to show the camera app and not a phone call.

‘Kamala just pretended to talk to a voter on the phone but mistakenly showed that her phone was open to the camera app,’ one person wrote on X. ‘LMAO Everything about Kamala is FAKE and STAGED.’

‘Kamala Harris is so phony… that she got busted making a fake phone call to a “supporter” today. Her campaign is a disaster,’ another person wrote on X.

Others described the gaffe as ‘brutal’ and ’embarrassing’ – though some people cast doubt on whether Harris could actually have been on the phone after all.

‘No. Kamala Harris didn’t “fake a phone call” just because you see a camera app,’ one person commented on X.

‘Try it, make a call, open camera, hold it to your cheek and remove it. You will see the screen activate/disactivate to prevent your cheek from dialing (like hers).

‘iPhones only do this while you’re on a call.

It comes as a final key poll revealed that Harris entered Election Day with a 4-point lead over Trump after slashing the gender gap.

Harris, 60, has the support of 51 percent of likely voters, according to the latest PBS News/NPR/Marist poll. Trump has support from 47 per cent.

The survey found that Harris’ surge comes after Trump’s lead among male voters significantly declined in the final days leading up to the election.

Trump, 78, previously held a 57 per cent lead amongst male voters, but now only leads 51 per cent to Harris’ 47 per cent.

However, the Democrat’s lead among women shrunk from 18 to 11 points.
