Vice President Kamala Harris ripped her opponent Donald Trump’s claim that he is ‘the father of IVF’ as she ditched the bipartisan Al Smith Catholic charity dinner in New York Thursday night for a rally in battleground Wisconsin.

Snidely remarking, ‘No Donald’ to the former president’s claim that people wanted Roe v Wade overturned, she also accused the Republican presidential nominee of having ‘no idea what he’s talking about.’

Harris’ ramped up language toward Trump came during a campaign rally in battleground Green Bay, Wisconsin that she scheduled despite prevailing political wisdom dictating she attend the Al Smith Dinner in New York City.

Presidential candidates have rarely missed the dinner – a generally congenial political roast that draws power players from both sides of the aisle – over the past 40 years, with Democrat Walter Mondale famously skipping it for debate prep against President Ronald Reagan in 1984 and subsequently losing.

At the rally, Harris played a video featuring clips of Trump boasting about the overturning of Roe v Wade. It also featured Trump calling himself the ‘father of IVF’ – in vitro fertilization – at a town hall this week.

As the video played, her boisterous supporters in the crowd booed. Some people in attendance even started chanting, ‘lock him up,’ after the video ended, a nod to Trump’s 2016 rallying cry about Hillary Clinton.

Harris said the courts ‘would take care of that’ but gave her own verdict on his words.

‘First of all, no Donald, everybody did not want Roe v Wade to be overturned,’ she said.

She said women who are dying of sepsis because they cannot get care ‘did not want this.’ The 59-year-old also said couples cut off from IVF ‘did not want this’ before she went after Trump for his ‘father of IVF’ remark.

Trump made the comment at an all-women town hall in Georgia earlier this week hosted by Fox News.

‘Oh, I want to talk about IVF. I’m the father of IVF, so I want to hear this question,’ Trump said when told he was about to receive a question about in vitro fertilization.

‘I mean it just gets more unbelievable sometimes,’ Harris said on Thursday.

‘And now the man calls himself the father of IVF? I mean what does that even mean?’ she laughed.

Harris accused the ex-president of being responsible for fertility treatments being at risk in the first place with Roe v Wade being overturned in 2022.

‘What is sadly interesting I think is that when you listen to Donald Trump talk, it becomes increasingly clear I think, he has no idea what he’s talking about,’ the vice president said as the entire room laughed.

‘When it comes to the health care of women in America,’ she added after a pause.

Harris has only recently started playing clips of Trump speaking at her rallies as Election Day draws near.

At a rally in Erie, Pennsylvania on Monday, the vice president also played a video featuring Trump rallies in which the ex-president complained about the ‘enemy from within.’

She warned on Thursday that across the country there has been an assault on freedoms and rights and claimed so much is on the line.

The vice president’s rally in Green Bay comes as early in-person voting in the battleground state begins October 22, and the race appears extremely close.

The latest average of polls by Real Clear Politics show the state is a dead heat with Trump up 0.1 percent in a state considered part of Democrats’ so-called blue wall.

Wisconsin voted for Trump in 2016 by roughly 22,000 votes before President Biden flipped it back to blue in 2020 by 20,000 votes.

Some 4,000 people showed up at the Resch Expo for Harris’ rally Thursday including those in overflow, according to the campaign.

Harris supporters who waited in line for hours to get into the event told DailyMail.com they are nervous about where the race stands in the state with Election Day quickly approaching.
