Supporters of former President Donald Trump were ecstatic to hear that Vice President Kamala Harris could leave the country if he wins next month’s presidential election.
Harris didn’t specifically say she would jump ship, but rather didn’t answer the question directly when it was posed Tuesday by radio host Howard Stern.
Stern, a vocal Democrat and Harris supporter, said asked the Democratic nominee: ‘If he wins, God forbid, would you feel safe in this country? Would you stay in this country?’
Trump has historically threatened to jail his political adversaries.
‘Howard, I’m doing everything I can to make sure he does not win,’ Harris responded.
Stern was not content with that response.
‘Well, what if he does? How can you be safe? He’s saying, I’m just going to do whatever the hell I want this time, I know what I need to do,’ the SiriusXM host said.
The Trump War Room Twitter account highlighted the exchange and posted it on X with a cry-laughing emoji.
Other Trump-supporting X accounts reacted joyfully to the idea of Harris leaving the United States over a Trump win.
‘Why wait?’ one X user said, as another chimed in, ‘I wish she’d take off now!’
In her response to Stern, Harris pointed to the large number of Republican national security officials who have signed on to her campaign because they believe Trump represents a danger.
‘We are building a coalition of people that are Republicans, independents, Democrats, libertarians all stripes of Americans who are coming together to say, you know what, this election is about putting country before party,’ the Democratic nominee said.
‘This is about saying, do we want a president who’s going to abide by the oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States, or someone who is full-time engaged in flattery of Vladimir Putin of Russia and sending COVID tests over to him, when Americans are dying every day,’ Harris went on.
She was referencing jaw-dropping allegations about Trump found in Bob Woodward’s forthcoming book that during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic the Republican president sent Russian President Vladimir Putin a secret stash of Abbott COVID testing machines ‘for his personal use.’
Stern asked Harris about that revelation during their hour-long interview Tuesday.
‘As reported by Bob Woodward, in the height of the pandemic, and remember, and your listeners will remember, people were dying by the hundreds. Everybody was scrambling to get these kits – the test, the COVID test kits,’ Harris said. ‘Couldn’t get them. Couldn’t get them anywhere.’
‘And this guy who was president of the United States is sending them to Russia to a murderous dictator for his personal use?’ Harris asked.
Stern then said he wished that Putin would have gotten COVID and ‘dropped dead’ to which Harris didn’t give a response.
‘Well the point being – that is just the most recent stark example of who Donald Trump is,’ Harris argued. ‘That he secretly sent COVID test kits for the personal use of Putin, of Russia, an adversary to the United States – when he was talking about how Americans should be putting bleach in their blood.’
