Vice president Kamala Harris took a victory lap over Donald Trump during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday night, joking in reference to the shocking guilty verdict last week: ‘Cheaters don’t like getting caught.’

The former San Francisco DA deflected a light-hearted question from Kimmel about whether the people she watched the verdict with were ‘pretending to not be happy’ when the conviction was announced.

Last week, Trump was convicted on all counts related to a scheme during his 2016 presidential campaign to pay off porn actor Stormy Daniels, who said the pair had sex in 2006, something he has denied.

She instead spoke of the six-week deliberations and the 12-person jury, before adding ‘the reality is, cheaters don’t like getting caught.’

Harris, who was shown to be ‘more popular than Beyonce,’ in a recent poll, rained verbal blows on to the Republican presidential candidate during the interview, calling him a ‘hypocrite’ who regularly applies double standards.

Kimmel then picked apart Trump’s arguments that the justice system works at the behest of the Biden administration, pointing out that the president’s son, Hunter, is currently on trial on gun charges.

‘If President Biden has weaponized the justice system, why doesn’t he get his son out of the trial. Hunter is currently on trial. Couldn’t he just snap his weaponized fingers and get him right out of that?,’ the comedian asked.

Kimmel has been an outspoken critic of Trump since his time in the Oval Office, in particular his attempts to repeal the Affordable Care Act in 2017 in the wake of the host’s young son’s battles with a heart condition. Next week, he will host a fundraiser for Biden’s reelection campaign.

It was Harris however who had the most damming indictment of Trump’s legal troubles.

‘A jury of 12 people, peers, over the course of six weeks, deliberated on the evidence and facts and unanimously determined guilt on 34 felony counts,’ the former senator from California said.

There was a defense attorney who actively participated in selecting that jury, who actively made decisions about witnesses to call, witnesses to cross examine.’

And the jury made their decision and you know, I think that the reality is, cheaters don’t like getting caught and being held accountable.’

Harris said that the American people are looking for a ‘president who is accountable to the people.’

Harris’ comments came a day after President Joe Biden tore into his predecessor and likely opponent in November’s election for sowing doubt in the judicial process,

‘It´s reckless and dangerous and downright irresponsible for anyone to say that it´s rigged just because you don´t like the verdict,’ Biden said at a Greenwich, Connecticut, fundraiser on Monday night.

Many of Trump’s acolytes in Capitol Hill have joined the ex-president in accusing Biden of using the federal justice system against his political rivals, even though the recent trial plaid out in a New York state court.

Historically speaking, Republicans and conservatives are advocates of state’s rights.

Harris also reacted to Kimmel’s remarks about Hunter’s criminal case saying: ‘To your point, the former president is a hypocrite, and will apply one set of standards to himself and another to others.’

That prompted Kimmel to mock Trump’s weight. ‘He was born a hypocrite. I mean, he puts the hippo in hypocrites.’

The Brooklyn-born host asked if Harris had ever even met Trump, to which she said no.

‘Wow, that is something else.’

Away from the 2024 campaign, Kimmel asked Harris if she was aware of cannabis strain named for her, Kamala Kush.

‘Seriously, I did not know that,’ she said. ‘You mean they didn’t send you any. That’s outrageous,’ Kimmel replied.

As a District Attorney of San Francisco, Harris oversaw more than 1,900 convictions for the use or possession of marijuana according to public records.

In March, marijuana legal reform advocate Steve DeAngelo demanded Harris apologize for her actions when speaking to DailyMail.com.

In other sections of the interview, Harris was asked if she was ever bitten by any of Biden’s dogs and if she has ever requested information about UFOs.

‘Who curse more, your or Joe Biden?,’ Kimmel as the interview continued to segue from hard hitting topics. ‘That’s one of the national secrets that I cannot share with you.’

Before the end however, Kimmel asked about the possibilities that Trump could be a draconian leader if he is elected again.

‘In all seriousness, Jimmy, you’re right to bring this up. He has been very clear. He intends to weaponize the Department of Justice against his political enemies. He admires dictators and says he’ll be a dictator on day one.’

Latest polls show that Trump has a narrow lead over his aging Democratic rival in the the November rematch that most Americans say that they don’t want.
