The Order is directed by Justin Kirzel and written by Zach Baylin and is based on the 1989 non-fiction book The Silent Brotherhood by Kevin Flynn and Gary Gerhardt.
The movie is set In 1983 and features a series of increasingly violent bank robberies, counterfeiting operations and armored car heists frightening communities throughout the Pacific Northwest.
As baffled law enforcement agents scrambled for answers, a lone FBI agent (Jude), stationed in the sleepy, picturesque town of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, comes to believe the crimes are not the work of traditional, financially motivated criminals but a group of dangerous domestic terrorists, inspired by a radical, charismatic leader (Nicholas), plotting a devastating war against the federal government of the United States.

Sources indicate that the schedules had been arranged so that the warring couple – who continue to be embroiled in legal action eight years after they split – would not be attending the film festival simultaneously.
Another major screening is Joker: Folie à Deux on September 4. The premiere of the sequel will welcome stars Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga to the Venice red carpet.
Daniel Craig will also be at the festival to promote his movie Queer, which screens on September 3.
Venice regulars Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton are in town for Pedro Almodóvar’s English-language debut The Room Next Door while Nicole Kidman attended the screening of her erotic thriller Babygirl on August 30.
Pupi Avati’s The American Backyard will close the festival on September 7.
