Bill Belichick is getting his behind-the-scenes docuseries after all – months after Hard Knocks scrapped their plans to film him at North Carolina over concerns about Jordon Hudson.

The NFL great, 73, was set to be recorded at work by the iconic Hard Knocks HBO series ahead of his hugely anticipated step into the college game.

But that plan was abruptly scrapped, with the New York Times claiming it was down to his 24-year-old girlfriend Hudson’s demands about content approval.

HBO’s loss appears to be Hulu’s gain, however. Front Office Sports reported Friday that the streaming giant are now going ahead with plans to release a series about Belichick’s time in North Carolina.

Further details are scarce for now. A name is not know, nor is a release date but Hulu have been contacted by Daily Mail for further comment.

News of the series going ahead will likely be considered a win for Hudson, who faced an extraordinary backlash after CBS aired footage of her interrupting their ‘Sunday Morning’ interview with Belichick.

The legendary New England Patriots coach was asked about how he first met Hudson and looked visibly uncomfortable, before she called out from off-camera to say their relationship was not a talking point.

It sparked a merciless explosion of scrutiny over their relationship and its near 50-year age gap. TMZ later reported that Hudson at one point stormed out of the CBS interview – delaying shooting for around 30 minutes.

Another report said that Hudson actually interrupted the interview so much, CBS felt obliged to include footage of one intervention as it was a genuine reflection of their experience.

NBA great Charles Barkley, a friend of Belichick’s, then said he was concerned about Hudson and would intervene to ask Belichick if everything was ok.

Ted Johnson, who played under Belichick for five season with the Patriots, even questioned his former coach’s sanity.

”He’s OK with what she’s doing,’ Johnson said. ‘He’s signing off on that.

‘To me, those are bad decisions that makes him and the university look really bad and question whether or not he is of sound mind and should be running a football team at the University of North Carolina.’

The Times then revealed that Hudson’s interference with Hard Knocks producers prompted the producers to scrap the project altogether.

‘Days before they were set to announce the series, Ms. Hudson demanded she be granted content approval and partial ownership of the show, according to a person familiar with the deal who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized by producers to speak to a reporter,’ the publication reported.

It is not yet known what control and influence, if any, Hudson will have over Hulu’s work with the upcoming series.

Belichick, an eight-time Super Bowl winner across his iconic NFL career, takes charge of his first college game on September 1 when UNC hosts TCU Horned Frogs in Chapel Hill.
