One of the more moving pictures she shared showed Carter asleep next to a framed photograph of Meredith and Johnny together.

Meredith Gaudreau announced her pregnancy at her husband’s memorial service on Sept. 9.

‘We’re actually a family of five,’ Meredith said during her heartbreaking eulogy. ‘I’m in my ninth week of pregnancy with our third baby. A total surprise, but again, John was beaming and so excited.’

Meredith added: ‘I was so nervous because this was, again, a total surprise.

‘But his reaction was just immediately kissing me and hugging me even though I was driving the car. After the initial excitement sank in, every time he looked at me, he would say, ‘You’re nuts, you know that? Three kids?’

The Gaudreau brothers were killed on Aug. 29 in Oldmans Township, N.J., where they had traveled to attend their sister Katie’s wedding scheduled for the following day. Johnny was 31 and Matthew was 29.

The brothers had been cycling on the eve of their sister’s wedding when the fatal crash occured.

Police said that the driver – 43-year-old Sean M. Higgins of Woodstown, New Jersey – was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. He has been charged with two counts of vehicular homicide with no bail or bond.

In documents seen by DailyMail.com, Higgins admitted to cops that he drank ‘5-6 beers’ before getting behind the wheel of his Jeep Grand Cherokee and crashing into the back of Johnny and Matthew on Thursday night.

Higgins is next expected to appear in court on April 15.

Johnny Gaudreau was a seven-time NHL All-Star who played 11 seasons, the first nine with the Calgary Flames and the last two with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

He tallied 743 points (243 goals, 500 assists) in 763 games.
