The British actor, 32, put his body on full display as he modelled a pair of tiny black underpants during the photoshoot in Miami.
The Oscar-winning star was seen ripping open a black shirt revealing his toned body and a tattoo on his chest.
Staring into the camera, John looked incredible in the black and white shot which was captured by photographer Ethan James Green.

Proving it takes a village to get the shot, an assistant was seen standing in the background throwing buckets of water on John as he tensed up for the shot.

While posing for the shoot, John told Pirelli: ‘I have various different definitions of beauty. Obviously [there] is physical beauty, but also I feel that beauty can be found in emotion and in moments, in feeling the spirits of people, the souls, unique personalities.
‘[Also] waking up to great news. Colours. Food. Red, that’s my favourite colour. Red is beautiful. It evokes such charisma to me.
‘And I think that it also embodies the masculine and feminine in a quite unique way. And we all got red in us, man. So, yeah, it’s unifying as well.’
Pirelli’s UK arm has published the calendar annually since 1964 with limited availability, as it is not sold and is instead given away to celebrities and select Pirelli customers as a gift.
In 1987, Naomi Campbell featured on the calendar at just 16, while other stars to have been photographed for it include Patti Smith, Serena Williams, Yoko Ono, Grimes, Alicia Vikander, St Vincent, Cara Delevingne, Emma Watson, Whoopi Goldberg, Nicole Kidman and Iggy Pop.
The Italian tyre company first signaled it was changing direction with its 2017 calendars, announcing it was ‘ripping up the rule book’ and giving the hotly-anticipated calendar a new feminist overhaul.

Also appearing in the calendar is Hunter Schafer, 25, who left very little to the imagination as she posed naked on the beach
The spread featured Robin Wright, Julianne Moore, Charlotte Rampling, and Helen Mirren (then aged 50, 55, 70, and 71 respectively) and was hailed a triumph for its representation of older women.
The Pirelli calendar was once synonymous with scantily-clad women, sizzling photo shoots and topless models.
However, the 2020 calendar saw A-list stars including Emma Watson, Kristen Stewart and Claire Foy pose fully clothed – in everything from denim jackets to period costumes – as they each take on the role of Shakespeare’s Juliet.
The spread, shot by celebrated fashion photographer Paolo Roversi, was dubbed the ‘wokest’ Pirelli calendar to date.
The dramatic departure from the glamour shots of the 80s and 90s is a clear signal that Pirelli is determined to shed its racy image once and for all, following a string of similarly progressive calendars in recent years.
Gone were the skimpy bikinis, provocative posing and nudity – Kate Moss, Amy Schumer and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley have all stripped off for previous Pirelli shoots – and in their place were women posing in denim jackets and ripped jeans. The Crown’s Claire Foy even dons a grey knitted cardigan in one of the behind-the-scenes shots.
In 2020, those featured were all in their 20s and 30s but have all made headlines for their outspoken views on social political issues.
The full line-up included: Emma Watson, Claire Foy, Kristen Stewart, Yara Shahidi, Mia Goth, Rosalia, Indya Moore, Chris Lee and Stella Roversi.
The calendar was not published in 2021 due to the Covid pandemic, the only year it has not been published since 1964.
Last year’s edition saw Prince Gyasi become the first black photographer to shoot a Pirelli Calendar in celebration of its 60th anniversary.
The Ghanaian’s work saw Campbell return to the calendar for the first time since 2018, and Luther star Idris Elba and former Chelsea and AC Milan footballer Marcel Desailly feature on pages.
