Joe Rogan has revealed that he finally had Donald Trump on his podcast after the presidential nominee was shot earlier this year.

Trump appeared alongside the 57-year-old comedian despite Rogan previously saying he had turned down offers to have the former president on the podcast.

Speaking with the presidential nominee in a wide-ranging interview, Rogan referenced Trump’s interview with fellow comedian Theo Von in August of this year.

Trump asked: ‘Is that why you called me to do this’, to which Rogan responded: ‘No. Once they shot you I was like, “He’s gotta come in here.”‘

Showing off the wound he received when gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire on him in July of this year, Trump said: ‘It zicked right there.’

Rogan replies: ‘It healed up pretty f***ing good man’, to which Trump said it wasn’t like UFC fighters that Rogan also provides color commentary for.

Trump told Rogan that the attempt on his life and the scarring had made him a ‘tougher guy’.

Rogan said in 2022 that he would never have Trump on his podcast over fears it would help his campaign.

During an interview with Lex Fridman in 2022, Rogan told him that he had turned down multiple offers to have Trump on his podcast.

He defiantly said: ‘I’m not a Trump supporter in any way, shape or form. I’ve had the opportunity to have him on my show more than once — I’ve said no, every time.

‘I don’t want to help him. I’m not interested in helping him.’

In recent times he had started to backtrack on this, seemingly alluding to the possibility in an episode alongside guest Patrick Bet-David last year.

Bet-David asked Rogan if he would have him, to which he casually responded ‘I don’t know’.

Probing further, Bet-David smiled and suggested he thought Rogan might have something up his sleeve, to which he cryptically responded: ‘Maybe.’

In the same interview with Patrick Bet-David, Rogan also discussed a list of questions he had already thought about should Trump appear on his show.

He told his guest: ‘I would like to know what is it like when you actually get into office? I would like to know things like what is it like versus perception?

‘When do you know that people are f***ing with you? When do you know that the intelligence agencies (are) lying to you?

‘When you decided to fire (former FBI director James) Comey, what was the thought? How much did you know?’ What’s the machine like? What is the deep state really like, really like?’

The first question Rogan asked Trump on Friday was what it was like when he actually got into office.

Just last month Trump was also interviewed by Fridman, and said he had not been invited to appear on the podcast.

Trump seemed less than enthusiastic when discussing Rogan, who was forced to roll back what was seen as an endorsement of Robert F. Kennedy after a MAGA blowback.

Rogan had sparked anger from Trump supporters, and Trump himself, after a clip from his show indicated that he was supporting RFK Jr. for president.

‘It will be interesting to see how loudly Joe Rogan gets BOOED the next time he enters the UFC Ring???’ Trump asked in a post on Truth Social.

Fridman asked Trump if there was any tension between the two. Trump said: ‘I don’t think that there was any tension and I’ve always liked him. But I don’t know him.’

As part of his podcast appearance Trump also spoke at large about UFOs, the unopened JFK and Martin Luther King assassination files as well as his recent brush with death.
