Dame Joanna Lumley is set to star in a huge new travel show with ITV, with filming to commence in the late spring.
The Absolutely Fabulous legend, 77, will travel down the length of the 1,770-mile River Danube for her latest adventure.
Joanna has recently made headlines for starring in Netflix thriller Fool Me Once alongside Michelle Keegan.
And this year she will visit Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova and Ukraine – the ten countries through which the river flows or borders.
Speaking about her upcoming adventure, she told The Sun: ‘We’re due to travel in the late spring of 2024 and it’s incredibly exciting.

‘We’re due to head across a part of the world with which I’m not that familiar at all, and across all the countries through which the Danube flows.’
An insider also told the newspaper: ‘Producers are preparing for the show to start filming soon and while destinations in some countries have already been organised, others are taking more planning.’
This is because the Danube borders Ukraine, so bosses are taking measures to see how safe it would be to film considering the ongoing war with Russia.
In 2022 Joanna explored Paris, Rome and Berlin for an eye-opening travel show, Great Cities Of The World.
She has also travelled the world’s Spice Trail, taken a trip on the Trans-Siberian Express, and explored the River Nile, Japan and Haiti.
Her latest career news comes after Michelle revealed the ’embarrassment’ she felt filming Fool Me Once alongside the acting legend.
The Coronation Street star, 36, spoke about the experience during an appearance on Friday night’s The Graham Norton Show.
Michelle stars as Maya Stern in the series, an ex-army captain who tries to solve the mystery of seeing her murdered husband, Joe (Richard Armitage) on a secret nanny cam, while Joanna plays her mother-in-law Judith Burkett.

Asked about working with BAFTA-winning star Joanna, she said: ‘It was so much fun, and we laughed the whole way through.’
Yet there was a downside, with Michelle confessing: ‘There were a lot of F-bombs dropped in the show, but I just couldn’t bring myself to swear at her in rehearsal. I was just so embarrassed to say the word.’
The series has rocketed to the top of Netflix’s charts since its New Year’s Day release and Michelle confessed she couldn’t believe it’s success.
She revealed: ‘It’s madness that it’s number one all over the world. I was always a huge fan of Harlan Coben books so when I got the call it was ‘Yes, absolutely,’ and I grabbed it with both hands.’
