She was in once a quarter of the UK’s biggest girl band touring the world and performing to thousands of fans each night.
However, aside from her international success, fame hasn’t been easy for Jesy Nelson who has had her fair share of struggles since she won the X Factor with her former band Little Mix back in 2011.
The singer, 33, who shared the news she is expecting twins with her boyfriend Zion Foster on Sunday, seems to have finally found her happy ending after she quit the band in 2020 following years of relentless trolling.
At the time of her departure, Jesy admitted she found the ‘constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard’, with the pop star admitting she was never ‘prepared’ for the job as she was ‘just a barmaid’.
Speaking about her mental health in her critically acclaimed 2019 documentary Odd One Out, Jesy revealed the online hate became so bad it led to her heartbreaking overdose in an attempt to take her own life.
Jesy left viewers in tears as she bravely spoke about her battle with depression and discussed how trolls, who mocked her over her looks and weight, triggered her into the suicide attempt in 2013.

Jesy confirmed in April 2023 that since leaving the band she had not spoken to Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock.
She told The Sun that she didn’t have the time to seek support and help for her mental health issues during her time in the band, prompting her decision to quit.
Jesy confessed: ‘I don’t have any regrets because I had to do what was right for me and I will always cherish the memories I had in Little Mix.
‘So no, we haven’t talked since then. Never say never, but I honestly wish them the best on their solo journeys now, which is so exciting.
‘I am rooting for all of them. I honestly do wish them all the success as they are all crazy talented.’
Meanwhile in 2021 while appearing on The Graham Norton Show to promote her first single Boyz, she said of her bandmates: ‘We’re not talking any more.
‘It is sad but honestly, there is no bad blood from my side, and I still love them to pieces and genuinely wish them all the best.
‘I loved my time with them, and we’ve got the most incredible memories together, but it’s just one of those things which needs to take time, so who knows.

‘To me, they are still the sickest girl band in the world.’
At the time Jesy was at the centre of huge drama, after Leigh-Anne accused her of blackfishing in the music video for Boyz in leaked messages with influencer NoHun.
Jesy’s Boyz collaborator Nicki Minaj then branded her former bandmates ‘jealous clowns’ on a barbed Instagram live.
Last October Perrie, 31, spoke about her and Jesy’s friendship ending on Fearne Cotton’s podcast as she admitted the shattered relationship inspired a new song.
She said: ‘I wrote a song about it – a friendship I had that I no longer have. We don’t know how to talk about friendship breakups.
‘It’s still as heartbreaking – when you go through all these things with someone all the highs and lows and then they’re just gone.
‘But these things happen. Do we try and rectify things? Or just stay away?’
While Jesy has attempted to forge her own solo career and has previously hinted at an album, she has only released two singles, Boyz and her 2023 track Bad Thing.

Despite not being in contact with her bandmates, Jesy aired her thoughts on the single after a fan asked her directly for her opinion on social media.
The fan asked the star: ‘Jesy, have you heard Angel Of My Dreams? Do you like the song?’
To which she positively responded with: ‘I have it’s a vibe!!!’

While Jesy was thought to have split from her boyfriend Zion, her post on Sunday suggests the pair are back together as they announced the happy news they are starting a family.
Jesy was seen in the snap beaming alongside Zion months after the pair were reported to have split in September, with the singer claiming that she is ‘eating for three’ now.
Prior to Sunday’s announcement, Jesy and the rapper had dated for approximately 18 months before calling it off in November 2023.
The couple soon reunited before breaking up again five months ago – however they hinted at another reunion as they shared a cosy snap announcing their pregnancy.
Jesy and Zion previously split last summer after Jesy struggled with their seven year age gap.
However they got back together and the pair recently collaborated on tracks together with one being unveiled in August and the others yet to be released.

When their split was reported, a source told The Sun: ‘Jesy and Zion split last month and have completely cut ties with each other. It’s not the first time they have broken up but friends think it’s for good this time.
‘It’s slightly awkward though because they had an EP ready of music they have made together and Jesy doesn’t want it released now.
Jesy confirmed she was back on with boyfriend Zion in November 2023 after they previously split three months prior after nine months of dating.
The pair were first pictured together back in January 2023, after it was reported in 2022 they’d grown close.
