Jessica Simpson gave a shocking update on her split from estranged husband Eric Johnson.
While talking to People magazine on Wednesday, the TV personality, 44, said that Eric is ‘still very much a part of my life and will always be.’
The two have been separated for several months now as neither is wearing their wedding band when they hit the town.
Simpson began the conversation by saying: ‘I’ve grown up so much. I can handle so much. Maybe I’m just meant to love a lot of people in my life.’
The blonde then told the outlet: ‘I don’t know why my heart gets tossed around but I’m one of the lucky ones. At least I have my children and I still have Eric. He’s still very much a part of my life and will always be.’
Simpson was talking to the magazine to promote her new ‘revenge album,’ which is titled Nashville Canyon: Part 1 and comes out March 21.
The pin-up movie star is releasing the single Use My Heart Against Me on Friday.

The former couple tied the knot in 2014 and share three children: Maxwell, 12, Ace, 11 and Birdie, five.
In regards to creating the album – which includes a total of five tracks – Simpson explained, ‘Discovering this music is something I did on my own.’
‘Thank God I had Nashville, it was just a way of me owning myself and declaring it,’ the Dukes Of Hazzard actress continued.
The designer notably recorded some of the EP while residing at her Tennessee rental outside of Nashville with her children.
Jessica added , ‘I am a woman now and I can do what I want and to have freedom in music – I think that’s what you’re going to feel in Nashville Canyon.’
The singer’s last album was dropped 15 years earlier in 2010 and was a holiday LP titled Happy Christmas.
Last month, a source informed DailyMail.com that the star had ‘already recorded a heartbreak album’ after her separation from Johnson.
‘It will be about her broken heart, so, yeah, I guess you can call it a revenge, a heartbreak album.’
The star will drop her EP titled Nashville Canyon: Part 1 on March 21 – and one of the singles Use My Heart Against Me is slated to release this week on Friday, February 21
The insider added, ‘When Jessica writes music, she pours her heart into it and has no filter, it’s very personal. So the album will really be about the struggles she has been through at home.’
‘It is super emotional and shares her side of the story. She has been working on the album for years, there is a lot in there.’
