Jesinta Franklin has revealed that her time at the Venice Film Festival was ‘awkward’. 

The A-list event, which was held in September, attracts some of the world’s biggest stars. 

And the model tells this week’s issue of Stellar Magazine that while she was proud of herself for attending the prestigious celebration, even if it wasn’t all that much fun for her. 

‘I actually felt a little bit awkward in Venice’ the 32-year-old admitted. 

‘I felt like I shouldn’t have been there and that I didn’t belong. But it was the most amazing opportunity’ Jesinta continued.

‘I hope both the kids look at both of us and think, Mum and Dad followed their dreams and they went after things’.

The model and AFL WAG looked like a movie star as she posed on the red carpet for the premiere of Ferrari at the 80th Venice International Film Festival in September. 

The mother-of-two had been in Italy all week for Armani Beauty. 

The Venice International Film Festival normally attracts the great and good of Hollywood as they promote their upcoming movies.

The Venice International Film Festival is the oldest film festival in the world.

It takes place on the Venice Lido – the so-called beach of Venice – a thin barrier island in the Venetian Lagoon, which is a short boat trip from the main city of Venice. Unlike Venice itself, cars have access to the Lido.

It marks the start of the awards season and regularly throws up big favourites for the Oscars. Eight of the past 11 best director awards at the Oscars went to films that debuted at Venice.

There are several categories making up the official selection of films shown, the top being those competing for the Golden Lion award.

New films by directors including Bradley Cooper, Yorgos Lanthimos, David Fincher, Michael Mann, Sofia Coppola, Ava DuVernay and Ryusuke Hamaguchi competed for the coveted gong.
