Jelly Roll picked up the award for Music Event of the Year for his duet, Save Me, with Lainey Wilson at Thursday’s 59th Annual Academy of Country Music awards, but part of his outfit ended up in the the trash bin afterwards.
The hitmaker, 39, who walked the red carpet with wife Bunnie XO, 44, by his side at the Ford Center in Frisco, Texas, revealed he has a peculiar habit when it comes to his wardrobe.
‘Can I tell you a frivolous habit I have?’ he asked on the Audacy podcast Wednesday.
‘Don’t judge me for this, y’all. I promise I grew up very humble, but I only wear socks once. I buy socks in bulk … It’s the most frivolous thing I’ve done with my success,’ the Wild Ones singer, whose legal name is Jason Bradley DeFord, told Sabrina from Queens.
‘I’m sorry, I hope I didn’t let nobody down with that, but when you’re fat, you can’t have stinky feet too, so you gotta have fresh socks!’

The Son of a Sinner artist was up for four awards this year, including the coveted Entertainer of the Year, which ended up going to his duet partner Lainey Wilson, 31.
‘The Entertainer of the Year, that’s crazy talk,’ he said before the ceremonies.
‘I just couldn’t wrap my head around being nominated four times. Before I even seen what the four noms were, I seen the stat that it was the first time someone went from zero nominations to Entertainer of the Year nomination since Billy Ray Cyrus in 1993.’
The Tennessee native debuted his new single Liar at the star studded awards show as fellow hitmakers such as Gwen Stefanie, Blake Shelton, and surprise star Dua Lipa sat in the audience.
Jelly Roll has been on a fitness and health journey recently, revealing he dropped quite a bit of weight in order to enter his first 5k event.
With his new Beautifully Broken Tour on the horizon, the singer and songwriter wants to improve his endurance.
‘I’m just getting in better shape, emotionally, physically, mentally, every way I can,’ he told Entertainment Tonight. ‘I’m just trying to be a better person.’
Part of that journey found the Almost Home singer returning to his high school in Antioch, TN for a Save The Music event.

‘I left that high school 25 years ago not on the best terms. In fact, when I left, it was in the back of a police car,’ he told the outlet. ‘They said I would never be allowed back, and I think it’s just more part of the redemption of the story.’
‘And to go back with Save the Music and to start bringing that program to more high schools in Nashville has been really cool,’ he said.
The Need a Favor artist would said he has been inspired by his pal Machine Gun Kelly, especially his move into acting.
‘I want to act, really bad,’ the former bad boy admitted on Audacy. ‘I know it sounds weird. I never thought I would act, but I’ve been really inspired by what Machine Gun Kelly has done with his career [over] the last three years.’
