Jason Momoa recently owned up to living the nomad life, revealing that he doesn’t own his own full-time home despite being an A-list actor.
But just days after making the confession to ET, the Aquaman star clarified his living situation to PEOPLE, telling the outlet: ‘I’m just houseless. I’m not homeless.’
He explained that his busy work schedule has kept him from settling down as he’s often ‘going movie to movie.’
‘I have a nice trailer,’ Momoa said. ‘Everyone’s like, ‘Jason Momoa’s homeless.’ I’m like, ‘Relax. I got a f***ing sleeping bag.”
The remarks come days after the actor settled his divorce with ex-wife Lisa Bonet nearly two years after the couple announced their separation.
Jason Momoa, 44, has clarified recent remarks about his living situation as he told PEOPLE: ‘I’m just houseless. I’m not homeless’
The remarks come days after his ex-wife Lisa Bonet officially filed for divorce a year after the couple announced their separation
The former couple started dating back in 2005, and eventually married during an intimate ceremony in 2017.
In those years Bonet, 56, and Momoa, 44, welcomed two children: daughter Lola, 16, and son Nakoa-Wolf, 15.
After six years of marriage, the couple revealed in January 2022 that they had separated.
But in court docs filed by Bonet earlier this month, October 2020 was listed as the official date of separation.
Their divorce was finalized on January 9 and the former couple agreed to joint physical and legal custody of their kids.
According to The Blast, the paperwork read: ‘Based upon the division of assets and income as agreed by the parties in the (settlement), the parties shall share the living expenses of the minor children, and neither party shall pay child support to the other.’
They both agreed that ‘if the minor children, or either of them, are traveling or vacationing with one of the parties, that party shall be responsible for the children’s expenses for such trips.’
The divorce was listed as ‘uncontested’ and both stars ‘waived the right’ to seek or receive spousal support from one another.
After Momoa’s career started to soar following his breakthrough role as Khal Drogo in the first two seasons of Game of Thrones (2011-2012), the offers for juicy roles only increased.
As a result, the Honolulu, Hawaii native has been working consistently, which appears to have only increased now that he’s been single man the past three-plus years.
Just in the past six years, Momoa has starred in such high-profile films as Justice League (2017), Aquaman (2018), Dune (2021), Fast X (2023), and Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom (2023), and that’s on top of his three seasons on Frontier (2016-2018) and three seasons in See (2019-2022).

Despite being ‘on the road all the time for his job,’ Momoa maintains he’s ‘doing fine’; seen in December
The actor has seen his career soar since his two seasons on Game Of Thrones (2011-2012)
Looking ahead, Momoa has the leading man role in the upcoming historical drama limited series Chief Of War and the American-Italian drama film In The Hand Of Dante.
Plus, there’s his new reality series On The Roam, where he ‘travels across the country to meet the extraordinary individuals blazing their own path’, according to IMDb, which premieres on Max (formerly HBO Max) on January 18.
Despite being ‘on the road all the time,’ Momoa maintains he’s ‘doing fine.’
And while he’s happy to still be busy working on various projects at the moment, the actor foresees a ‘slow down’ for himself in the future.
‘I’ve never bought a house yet, so I’m excited to one day,’ he admitted to People, before joking how people will be amazed when they eventually do find out he finally bought his own home: ‘Like ‘Jason Momoa bought a home. Holy s**t. He’s got a pillow now.”
Now officially a single man but grateful that he has a thriving career at a job he loves, Momoa says he still loves to travel across the country, learning more about the arts and crafts from people far from Hollywood.
The Hawaii native is out promoting On The Roam, a reality series for Max in which he travels the country to see how artisans and craftspeople create their art
On The Roam will showcase the leading man on the roads cruising on his many motorcycles and hotrods, in the hunt for other artists and their unique creative ways
‘These are the things I really want to do, and hopefully by doing that and creating something and passing it on to charity,’ he said. ‘I’m like, ‘Wow, this feels good.’ I’m doing what I want to do.’
He added that the upcoming season of his series On The Roam will include encounters with the craftspeople responsible for creating aspects of his films and TV shows. Other adventures will see him getting to help rebuild a 1920s Rolls-Royce Phantom and meeting with the photographer Todd Hido.
‘It’s very much my passion for handcrafted artisans,’ the Game Of Thrones star continued. ‘The things that I truly love, wanting to honor the people who inspire me, and then wanting to make stuff that’s really cool for charity, so that they can, you know, bring all this kind of attention to these artisans. So, when people see the show, I’ll jump on Instagram and try to get going so we can auction off a lot of these cool things and spread some love.’
Momoa’s Hollywood resume also includes television roles in Baywatch: Hawaii (1999-2001), North Shore (2004-2005), Stargate Atlantis (2005-2009), as well as such films as Conan The Barbarian (2011), Braven (2018), and Sweet Girl (2021).
